Anyone with this combo? Any pics if you do?
look at the 2cnd post away from this one titled "my new toelke 52" recurve", the bow is that combination and has pictures.
Bow #1 on our website has Mek. riser and Carbon limbs. In the picture the limbs just look black. It will give you an idea what the combination would look like.Look under instock SXT and ZSR bow section bow #1.

forgive the brain cramp, I forgot this post moves back up with my reply. Look on the 2cnd page for the post with pictures of the macassar ebony/black glass 52" Toelke recurve..
Macasorr Ebony is beautiful,Black Glass Has No Class
I've built some super beautiful bows and some of then had black glass. They honestly got as many or more comments than some of my fanciests veneers have. I personaly love black glass and will probably build my next personal bow with black S glass. Add some neat overlays and antler tips and knock your socks off.
God bless you all, Steve
Hey Mark,
What do you mean "Black Glass Has No Class" ? So what about Carbon? Because you sure seem to like those Carbon/Foam Shawnee limbs. :biglaugh:
Bill
I thought you missed it. Oh and with snake skins and veneers nobody knows!! Keep it quiet :nono: :nono:
Thanks guys - anyone else?
Here are a few Mac Ebony bows I've built with black glass.

Not the best picture but this bow has macassar ebony with black glass. The lighter wood is east indian rosewood.

I really like the looks of black glass, it goes well with a variety of handle woods/colors. Nice pictures!
Black glass (or black carbon) looks very nice, and I have it on a number of my bows, but given a choice I will always pick a gorgeous wood veneer for looks. I also have some limbs with snake skins that look very good, but not as good to me as the fancy woods. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I won't argue with someone else's opinion as to what he wants on his own bow. Those are some really pretty bows that are pictured!

I've seen many bows with several different woods in the rise, and another type of wood for limb veneers, that would have looked much better with black glass, imo of course.
I like black glass also. Seems a little less busy at times but I still like to see a pretty set of veneers! Half my bows have black and the others have pretty veneers. It's good to have choices.
I have a Macassar Ebony/black glass bow on order... a 3-piece Maddog longbow. Looking forward to it!
Should be here tomorrow....

1/4 way, NICE!
1/4 away, now THAT'S a beautiful bow! Is it macassar and gaboon laminated in the riser?
1/4 away that is some very nice looking pieces of wood !!
Fred,
Is the wife out of town again? Remember what happened last month :deadhorse: :nono:
Must be infected. Looked at a multitude of bows this weekend and still can't get enough.
1/4 away -
Yes sir! That's some nice wood. :clapper:
bodork, I'm not the original owner but I'm told....The woods in the riser are Ebony and Bacote cut into to thin strips to make kind of a exotic contrasting piece of actionwood with the weight and beauty beauty of exotics.
