Not sure if this has been asked. Was curious of what others think regarding Summits treestands compared to Lone Wolfs? Thinking about replacing a couple of stands andwas curious what you all thought was a better deal...
Check out Treewalker stands. I have used Lone Wolfs for a long time but the next stand I purchase will be a Treewalker.
Kinda apples and oranges.
Summit is typically more bulky than any Lone Wolf but more comfy. If I am going to sit all day, I try to plan it for a place I can take one of my Summits. If I have to go in a LONG way, I take a Lone Wolf.
I have an Assault, an Alpha, and the Hand Climber in LW and a Python and Dagger in the Summit. They all do different things well.
I have both and if I were to buy another climber it would be a Lone Wolf. It's more compact to carry and quieter all around.
Both are good and have their own positive attributes. Last year when I was deciding, I went with the Summit because the seat was bigger for my back side and it was a good bit cheaper. It is the best climber I've ever owned.
No stand compares to Lone Wolf for climbing, but they are fairly uncomfortable. Summit's are comfortable but bulky and difficult to carry through brush. Just my 2 cents worth, TRW
Steve O nailed it! I have the LW Alpha with steps for crooked trees, LW climber for long walks, an old Loggy Bayou tree hugger for super long walks, and Summit Clear Shot and Viper for long sits!
Summit Viper if yourlooking for a climber.Check out Millenium treestands also. There loc-on is great
The x-1 stand is worth taking a look at too. Next stand I will be buying, and I also agree with SteveO.
I'm going to the ladder type, nothing looks as solid as the Summit. Like the comfy comment as well. After an hour or so in, that's all I'm thinking about. Well, outside of that snap behind me...
I've been all Lone Wolf for several years now, but seriously thinking of trying a Summit rsxEagle hang on for the long sets.
I have three lone wolfs and love them but i bought a couple Muddy's last season and for the money they are sweet. My summit climber is my go to stand if I need to move had it for 10yrs and still works like the day I bought it.
Guess I should have said hang-on stands as here in kansas not to many good trees for climbers, at least where I hunt.
Well then, in that case Iwould be immediately on the phone to Joe Lasch at Prarie Traditions (sponsor and all around good guy) for a brand new USA made Lone Wolf! I find the Assault more comfortable than the Alpha, but I am probably in the minority. Lone Wolf Hang on over all others IMO.
Lone Wolf for climber and Chippewa Wedge -Loc for hang-on, no doubt about it! Shawn
The Chippewa has a bracket system that you can make yourself for about $8 and you only need one stand and hang multiple brackets. I own 3 stands and have over 30 brackets out and about! Shawn
Shawn, LW has the EZ-Hang hook as well. Similar principle to the CWL.
I have a Summit climber and like it.
However....
I am hoping to switch over to aluminum rapid rails with an Ameristep platform. It is super light, easy to set up and much more versatile.
Just my thoughts.
I had both; gave the summit away and have been using the Lone Wolf for 10 yrs now and love it. If you hunt with a trad bow the Wolf is the best stand to shoot from, IMHO.
I love a Lone Wolf. Don't know what I would do without them.

I have used alot of climbing stands from API, to the new Ol man, tree lounger and Lone wolf and summit. But I wouldnt trade my summit for anything. I have the goliath and its awesome I can sit or sleep in it all day long. The goliath is a little heavier than the lone wolf but way more comfortable. So last year I borrowed my brothers top section off of his summits stand I believe its the open shot. It worked great with my bigger goliath platform, the best of both worlds. A open top section for freedom of movement and shooting my recurve and a larger platform for my feet. You can also order this way through summit, u can mix and match what suits your needs. I'm gonna order me one of the open shots top section this year. I hope this review helped
Lonewolf, one base and use the sit & climb or the hand climber. I can stay in the sit & climb longer.
Lone wolf. I think they are the best stands ever built for a person who cannot hang lots of stands and leave them all season. I consider them a must for public land hunting.
LW all the way. I've been using the Alpha hang on with the ez hooks for five years and really like the set up. Also, I have a sit n climb and alpha hand climber that is super quiet. This year I'll be using my Guido's Web for all day sits during the rut. This thing is super comfy and by the safest, highest quality stand ever made.
I have a Summit climber. Its a Razor SS. The climbing bar can be swung down and out of the way. Great for bowhunting. Its quit and comfortable. I can sit in it all day from dawn to dusk. This has helped me close the deal more than once.
