Went on my first outfitted hunt on June 1-10 , wall tents horses way back in the Clearwater mountains of Idaho.I have to say it was great had a good time with good people.I hunted with RidgeRunner outfitters and will be going back for sure not only for the bears but for the fishing later this summer. We lost several days to the weather and some of the roads were just gone.I will say if you aint ready for this type of a rugged place it might send you home so get in some shape.Im not going to be long here so on this hunt I am shooting a 90s Bear TakeDown that I bought from a Tradgang member , on the first bear a 1964 Razorhead was used and the second one a Simmons Treeshark did him in.The limbs on this bow are RoseOaks that pull 66# @ 30 for me and shooting a 780gr carbon arrow. My frist bear was shot from the ground at 27yds and he was down in less than 30yds second bear was also from the ground and was a 16yd shot he ran about 50yds the fell down a mountain about another 100 or so , I got my entire hunt on video and meet some great guys and just had a good time , they say my first bear was the largest that the outfitter has ever had taken and my second was a great bear also ( I was the first Trad hunter they have ever had in camp ) he said he had never seen a blood trail like the one the ol TreeShark left behind ( heart shot ). Any way here is some pics will do a good write up later.

Either you guys are really small or that is one HUGE bear. Good Hunting!
Sounds like you had a great trip Sam! I will look forward to your write up. That is a great bear - big ol' punkin head.
I know a feller from that part of Idaho that did a self guided hunt for mountain goats up there off of Skull Creek a few years back. He killed (non-bow but very close range) a very good goat. It is wild country, like much of that part of our state.
Fan-tuddy-blastic! Well-done! That seems to me to be a monster of a bear!
Outstanding hunt,congrats. I also appreciate your bow's choice.Felix

Great bears and pictures! Thanks for sharing. You have me really wanting to hunt Idaho but it's a 27 hour drive from here.
Sam way to go bears from the ground is the way to go what a rush Thanks Shane
Dont let the drive stop you it is a must do trip I spend 35 plus days a year in Idaho and it is about a 30 drive for me.If you can ever go you will go back. Yes it is a very big rush for sure , I live for it , took a big ol nasty boar ( hog ) off the ground lastnight at 3 steps and still wound tight form him.,,,,,,,,Sam,,,,,,,,,,

!["" "[dntthnk]"]("graemlins/dntthnk.gif")
;)
Kidding...nice knives.
Does your outfitter bait them bears while your on the ground? That would be highly exciting.
Excellent !!! Just when my mind is on bears
I was showing off my knife man , LOL , yes we were hunting baits , had a few spot and stalks. The country is very thick and rough so by the time you spot you are very close. The price is well worth it , he has a full guided hunt witch is more money.Had brought this back up cause of some looking for a good bear hunt.We are going back and if anyone wants to go let me know. The outfitter is filling up fast so will pro set up my hunt this week.......
