Title: Mason's Mason Jars for Compton
Post by: NoCams on June 13, 2011, 04:33:00 PM
Getting giddy bout heading North to Compton on Friday morning. Three more days, a wake up, and 583 miles of trying to keep Uncle Robbie Tattoo and Mason from killing each other along the way.

After our first Compton last year we came home and started saving our change for Compton gas $$$ this year. Good thing we did with the economy like it is and these wonderful bargain prices on push water for vehicles. Cannot wait to see everyone and all things Compton. Praying for a safe trip to and from, wonderful weather and more memories made. If all goes well we will see ya'll around 3PM on Friday. Mason is heading to the Coinstar to see what we got in the mason jars in the AM.....

Jimmy/Mason-
I don't think that you're using those containers in the most efficient way from an economics perspective.

You know those Yankees pay GOOOOOOOOOD money for other Southern niceties that come in Mason jars. Remember the anthem Rocky Top where corn comes in a jar.....

Heck, your other passenger(s) Jerry D and Robo-rob would likely have you bought out before crossing over into our prior enemy's territory....

Mason/Jimmy,

Praying you and Rob all have a safe trip.
Can't wait to see you again and meet Rob as well.

Maybe, when you hit the southern Indiana border  let Mason out and make him run behind for a couple hours. That way we'll be able keep up to him when you get there. If that boy gets any taller I'm going to have to take three stride to one of his.

Mason, I'll go throw some more vittles in the cooler in case ya need a little snack when y'all get there.   :biglaugh:

We should be there Wed. midday. It's only 430 miles and 2 stops at cabelas for us.

Hey Jimmy, I hope you guys have a safe trip and some great weather.

We are not going to make it this year due to many factors...one of them being the same economy you mentioned.

You shared the story of Mason`s new bow with me, my wife and kids just before we left Berrien Springs for the trip home, and it really made for some great conversation in the car on our way home. I have thought of it often since that day.
Simply awesome!  :campfire:

Safe journey.

Mason is always welcome in Michigan, the jury is still out on Rob though! Jimmy you raised a fine, respectable young man there and should be proud. I had a chance to meet Mason last time he was here and was impressed with how he carries himself. Have a safe trip.

Don't go to Coinstar...they will charge you close to 10%

Do go you your local bank, they will do it for free!

And the Credit Union coin counter machine sez.......... $167 !!! Not sure what "Shine" is selling for David but I bet it ain't $80 a quart ! So, we are getting some good use outta them jars. Even though Bernanke keeps printing money, telling us it will work and we all know better, guess our money is still worth a little for now. A third grader has more sense than ALL our politicians do and that is a fact ! $167 and it still will not get us there and back, sheeesh!

Bonebuster sure hate to hear we will not get to see you and your fine family this year. Sure you cannot make it..... after all you live in MI ! C'mon you can come, I yellow dog dare ya !!!

Bruce, if we were jogging more west instead of going up thru Nashville, Louisville, Indy, and Kokomo we would stop and pick you and Miss Marilyn up ! Sure have missed you two.

2 more days and a wake up to go !

Roger,
Hope to share a campfire either Fri or Sat with you and Ron at Compton. Would like to sit quietly in the corner and listen to ShrewHaven tales as long as you guys will tell them. Look Mason and I up, we will be wearing brown Compton T shirts with, " NoCams" and " StoneMason " across the backs of them. If that is not enough we will be hanging with "RobTattoo and "JerryD", fellow TN Volunteers. As most on here will tell ya Uncle Robbie blends in with a crowd and sometimes is hard to notice, haha !!!

It would be nice to see you guys too Jimmy!

Too many irons in the fire this year, trying to keep the wolves away from the door.

Again, safe journey and a wish for some nice weather for the Comptons weekend!  :wavey:

Bruce, if Dolly's is still in Vienna and Mason found out I would have to save 5 gallon buckets full of change just for his Dutch Apple Pie from Dolly's !!! The waitresses there bout spoiled that boy in a matter of weeks. Good grub, that is for sure.

Loadin the truck tonight after an early Father's Day dinner with my Dad since we will be in MI. So..... hopefully a decent night's rest even though it is like the night before opening day, then a wake up and Compton bound. Got a last minute stowaway as well.....left handed, red headed, answers to the name Mr. Wilson......
