OK, Here we go....
I have always tried to make the first shot count, so lets do this.
Fifteen (15) comfortable steps from your target.
(Less for the younger archers shooting with us.)
Now take with you a bucket, chair, stump, cooler or anything else you feel you can rest your fanny on while you shoot as if you were in a ground blind.
Three (3) arrows only for this challenge. The first counts 2X as it is the most important. Second arrow and third arrow count 1X.
Take as much warn up as you need.
Make your first arrow count and good luck.
In case of a tie... The closes first arrow to the center wins.
NEVER CALL IT A FANNY its a bum, arse, backside, tosh, cushion, seat warmer, buns, wagon, wideload, cheeks, undie eaters never a fanny a bum is not a fanny. O and its bum bag not fanny pack.
Here's wk 3 sitting on a DB Magnum chair shoot "Roi" my Osage Royale 66" 52@28.
The "Snag" 4 fletch is my #1 arrow.
I wanted to get this done early so I reused another of my targets but marked the holes already in the plate. (lazy)...lol

God bless,Mudd
PS: If my math is any good then I believe it adds up to 34.
Mudd, You wanted to get it done early because of the rain coming your way!
Good shooting Mudd!
I believe these challenges to be quite entertaining and beneficial in raising awareness of what may be an actual real life challenge in the field. The challenges also serve well in building comaraderie. I have been following these challenges weekly and actually placing them in a file for future reference.
My participation has been sadly nonexistant due closing in on a particular form and shot execution that I wish to both master and own.
Great thread and positive community activity!!
Fun as always :)
Looks like 22 for me, first shot was the 4 ring :help:

I'll be doing this later in the week. I have to recover from a surgical procedure from Friday.
Great challenge for those of us who hunt on the ground.
Here's mine for this week. I used my new Morrison 13" ILF riser and med. black max limbs making a 56" bow. I figured that would be a good blind set up.
My first shot was the barred fletched way up there in the 6 ring and followed with a pair of 8s. 28 points again.
This is good stuff fellas.

Should not have shot immediately after work :knothead:
Mind wandered and so did my first arrow which as you can see is completely missing from the target block :help: So 2x0 is still 0 and I come away with a whopping 12 for the effort

Okay, I shot this in the dark. I did have some light from the porch, but just enough to see. I couldn't actually see the lines, but I don't think that would have mattered.
First shot ended up being in the 8 ring, the next 2 in the 6, for a total of 28.
I shot sitting at 15 yards in my Waldrop Pac Seat.
Good Shooting guys
Good shooting guys and thank you for shooting! :campfire:
First two in the 8, 3rd in the six.
Total of 30

I don't wanna talk about it...
1st shot was a 4. so 4x2 is 8 plus 6 plus 8 is 22. i was happy the way we had to shoot this time. i actually practice this from my DB blind. don (http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h356/donny-szymanski/tradgang%20fun%20shoot/tradgangfunshootweek3002.jpg) (http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h356/donny-szymanski/tradgang%20fun%20shoot/tradgangfunshootweek3001.jpg)
Ok, I think I got it.
The first arrow counts for twice the indicated score.
My first arrow is the one on the left. Since it broke the line, it (barely) counts as 8, X 2 or 16 for the one arrow. The other two are 8 and 6 for a total of 30.
Better than last time.
Yeoman
Adam shot 20 Bjorn 28

Here's Mike Pfander's Wk 3. His hits are from top-to-bottom, so double the top 6 for 12, then an 8 and a liner 6 for 26.

I made a pdf of a paper plate target on CAD at work. Its right on as per the dimensions given for the target right down to the 0.955 inch diameter of a U.S quarter. Anyone have a problem using it? If its ok and you guys want a copy send me a Pm and i'll send you a copy.
Don
If it's the right size I have no problem at all.
You never know though...you might be handicapping yourself..
A plate is 9", letter paper is 8.5" wide.
Could make the difference....lol
Just playing with you.
shot two rounds this week--the first was for week one's challenge because i missed it.
week one: three fours, and a miss. total of twelve.
week three: first one in the 8 ring, next two misses. total of sixteen.

Can we shoot an earlier round and will it be credited? Just askin based on John's post and I also missed round 1.
John- :biglaugh: I like you notes on the target
LimBender- Go ahead and shoot round one of you would like. Just go back and read everything before you do.

Do I see the need for some drywall repair? I have a few of those in the plywood backer panel under my bench in the barn where I shoot inside some times. I run into trouble when I wonder way out in the yard. You guys that shoot in the basement with your targets in front of a concrete wall or in your garage with the target informant of your overhead door must have more confidence in your shooting than I do or you are shooting real short distances.
Wow. This was disappointing.

A whopping 16 for me this week.

8x2+10+6=32
I decided to give the MOAB a break and try the new shrew from my Double Bull seat. I almost never shoot setting so this was a good chance to try the new short blind bow and some set down shooting. First arrow was the hole for an 8 then the 10. I was dialed in, but I am down to two arrows for this bow with the rest getting fixed up for Compton. After a break to retrieve an arrow and glue up another round of feathers, I shot my third arrows. Not so dialed in after taking the break, but I was very happy with how the bow shot setting.
Went from good to bad, at least that first shot was good, I wouldn't have needed the other two.
First shot - 8, Second - 6, Third - 4, Total - 26
(http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/ff373/bartcanoe/Round3.jpg)
Shot my Maddog Recurve 53@28.
(http://i719.photobucket.com/albums/ww192/Karenahynes/SDC10300.jpg) top left arrow is my first so i make it a 26 that was a hard shot i have never shot while sitting before a great challange.
TTT
What does that mean TTT?
TTT means Take it to The Top, moves the thread to the top of the stack, keeping it alive ;)

Ok, here's my entry for the week. I marked my first arrow with a 1. The second arrow is touching the 10 line just barely. So I think it is a 34. Unless y'all think it's too close to call. Anyway another fun shot!
ahhh hey some good shooting guys GET SOME!!!!
Shelly started with an 8 then got 2 more for a score of 32. She outshot me at Cloverdale too.
Now this was fun! I shot a 4x2, 8, and a 4 for a total of 20.
Not real happy, but I'm pretty new at this. :dunno: Went back and shot round 1 for a 20 = 2 6s and 2 4s, which is here:
(http://img848.imageshack.us/img848/9650/round1.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/848/round1.jpg/)
Also shot a 20 on round 3 = 8x2 + 4 + 0. Coulda been a lot worse on that second round with my first shot in the 8 ring. I have not practiced sitting down with the stickbow and was shooting high and not as consistent. This is great practice.
(http://img545.imageshack.us/img545/5421/round3d.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/545/round3d.jpg/)
Got excited with my first shot a nice 8, but went downhill from there. "26" Thanks for allowing practice shots.
First shot was the "8" on the right.
Then 10, then the left 8.
They were close but darnit the lines are cut.
A little luck adds up lol.
Score = 34

If I looked right we have a three way tie, Mudd, b.glass, and Zradix. Keep the scores coming guys! Good shooting! :archer: :archer2:
I think Mudd had 32.
If he had 34 I'd say he's in front as his first shot was a 10.
QuoteOriginally posted by Zradix:

Just seeing if you were paying attention. LOL thanks your right. Two way tie.
I'd say B-glass is 1st as of now.
Her First shot was closer to the center than mine.
Seeing that was the weighted shot I'd count that one as the deal maker.
My arrow was just touching the line. I know Zradix arrow cut the line so it's either him or Mudd.
BTW, does everyone have the means to shoot longer shots, say 25-30 yds? Or an elevated shot?
Ha! Must have been typing at the same time!
Some people were speaking of "maybe being able to stretch to 15yds"
I could go longer but would have to do it at the range so it would have to be on a Saturday or Sunday unless I could *ahem* sneak out of work :D
b.glass, good shootin and yes to yardage and elevation.
Here is mine for the week.
1 shot8x2=16
2 shot 10
3 shot 6
Total 32
(http://images.imagelinky.com/1308347669.jpg) (http://images.imagelinky.com/1308347669.jpg)
#1 = 6 x 2 = 12
#2 = 4
#3 = 6
Total = 22
Here's my score for the week. On a brighter note, I shot my best 3d league score this week, 200 out of 308, definitely improving. FWIW, top scores in league are in the 230 range.
22 points for week 3.
Brian

i can shoot to 25 yards. i do not have a way to shoot elevated shots. don
28 points for me this week.
1st=8 x 2 = 16
2nd=6
3rd=6
Still trying to get some arrows tuned to a new bow. I'll post a pic later.
I was just wondering I guess cause I shot at Cloverdale with my self bow and from the men's stake. I didn't do so good. It seems alot of the shots were 25 and 30 yds. So I've been trying to practice them more.
Hope im not too late, heres 3 6s for a 24
(http://i1182.photobucket.com/albums/x452/samanella1/trradgang3-2.jpg)
Here's mine first shot aliner 8 then a miss then a 4 for a score of 20. (http://i492.photobucket.com/albums/rr281/LarryS54/Picture1475.jpg)the other hole was my fourth shot after the miss I was frustated.
Well, I guess I lost my pics in cyberspace but anyway, our scores are as follows
Trick00-22
Patrick-16
Christopher-10
Sorry to be so late, I shot a 16 total for the three arrows.
2-6's
1-4
The farthest I can shoot is 20 yds., I don't think my neighbors would like it if I also start to shoot out of trees, but it's not a problem if you want to do that, I'll just stand down for the next round.
I'm currently on a roadtrip to Alaska, and barely have internet service, let alone the ability to post pics, but I did an improvised shoot at my campsite. The mosquitos were biting, but I lucked out and hit the 8 ring on the first shot, but got two 4s after that, so I made 24. Don't know if we can post scores without a pic, but it's as good as I can do at the moment.

I feel SO bad for you not having internet service because your in Alaska! :biglaugh: That's fine that you don't post a pic. Have fun on your trip!
b.glass is the winner this week. Good shooting everybody!
