With the light poundage bows I've shot for 47 years, I've shot 2 blade broadheads for 45 of those years. The other 2 years, I shot a 3 blade broadhead.

This year, I'm going back to a 3 blade broadhead, but the 75 grain 3 blade broadhead I'm going to be using is the lightest 3 blade broadhead I've ever shot.

With a 2 blade broadhead, I've always mounted the blades horizontal. I don't mount 3 blade broadheads with any set rule.

I've been using Zwickey single bevel for the last couple of years. Only thing I don't care for is that they take some work to get sharp. Other than that they are super tough.

Zwickey is my main broadhead, too. However, I have made the switch to right wing so I can use the RFA heads.

2-blades only for 30+ years. Good flight, sharpen easy, & quick kills w/good blood. Prefer complete passthrough w/no arrow left inside the animal. Current arrow totals 700+ grains incl 160gr Ace.

Black Diamond two blade.  Easy to sharpen.

A few years ago I convinced my son who is a compound gizmo and gadget shooter to switch over to the 2 blade eskimo from the 3 blade razor heads.  That is all he uses now.  Couple of years ago he shot a deer, bear and turkey with the same arrow and Eskimo head in the same season.

I've used a wide variety over the years. I'll be using the same 2-blade, single bevel this year as I killed two deer with last year. The "Helix".

My broadhead was 100 grains last year fronting a Beman MFX Classic 600 grain carbon arrow. The arrow weighed only about 414 grains but I achieved complete pass-throughs on two, lung-shot white-tails with a 47# recurve.

This year, for no particular reason I'm going to use spine 500 with  125 grain Helix broadheads to get my total arrow weight right at 500 grains. I don't know whether I'll use the same bow or not -- probably not but the draw weight will be 46-48 pounds at my 26" draw.

I use both Grizzlies or Muzzy Phantoms, 200gr up front.  They both work very well.

I've been using Snuffers for a lot of years and never had any problem with them. I am now working with the 2 blade Magnus Stingers that I recieved for xmas past. They seem to fly great but will have to see what kind of blood trail they leave if I'm fortunate enough to be able to hunt and get a chance at a deer. You know reading this thread convinces me that the more things change the more it is still the same. Hunters used to have these same conversations about 2vs3 blade heads it seems like forever.  Man I love archery!!!

I shoot 2blade Magnus screw in heads. They have performed flawlessly on several deer. Good blood, only complaint would be that the blood trails are too short! i enjoy trailin as much as shooting!   :knothead:

Used Zwickey's for more years than I want to admit to. Used stinger's for a few recent past seasons but am headed back to Zwickeys this year.
Nothing wrong with the big 150 4 blade stingers but just like the old tried and true, sharpen easily and the only damage I've had is when I get a pass thru and hit a rock.Killed 8 deer and 1 turkey with the same bh, can't argue with those results.

I have used Magnus MA125 and RibTek 125 W and S (though I prefer the S version) with good results on whitetail and smaller game, and this year hope to verify the 130 gr STOS is a good performing head.  I use wood shafts of between 560 and 650 grains all up weight.

the buck in my avatar i shot last year with my long bow. specs at the bottom. he was about 20 yards slightly quarting away. i shot him through the back of both lungs. got a complete pass through. he ran about 30 yards away and stopped didnt know what happened. he stood there for about 1 min and then fell over. he tried to get back up but couldnt. i watched him fall asleep.

i was shooting a 475 grain arrow with 150gr magnus stinger 2 blade

Vantage Point Archery, makers of the fine line of Terminator 3-blades, has a new 2 blade under development. I'm on their pro staff and am expecting some prototypes of the head before too long.  When I have a chance to test one I'll post the results on TG.

Two bladed Zwickeys, Eskimo and Deltas for years. last year for a change I tried Ace Express two blade and they worked fine. I bought a package of Snuffers to use if I go bear hunting next spring. Seems for bears three blade broadheads get the nod. Bigger hole and not as likely to clog up with fat.

I'm still babying my last dozen Magnus Journeyman Broadheads(Magnus if you're reading this you should REALLY start making these again). Two blade 160gr, they sharpen well, great flight, takes a beating and comes back for more.

I have shot 2 blade heads for over 40 years.  Tried a bunch and have settled in on Zwickey and Magnus heads with steel inserts for my carbon shafts that get me up to 200 grains up front.  I get excellent flight and penetration with that combination.

This is a 190 el grande griz. I have moved on to the 200 gr el grande griz. Awesome head.

Sorry about the pic quality, cell phone. This was a neck shot. Buck dropped in its tracks.

I shoot two blade heads exclusively. The older Bear Razorheads and the Ace Standards are my choice depending on my bow set-up. Never seen a need for single bevel, but I'm mostly hunting whitetail deer and pigs. "Keep-Um sharp".   :campfire:

Zwickey and Magnus mostly. Although I have some 160 and 190 Grizzly. Bought some 3 blades here awhile back, but wound up giving them away. They were still in the package.

I hunt mostly whitetails and have used many different 2 and 3 blade heads. There are a lot of good ones available.

My favorite is the 160 Ribtek. I've used them on wood, aluminum, and carbon. If I had to choose one head and one shaft I'd pick the 160 Ribtek on the end of a carbon shaft through all of my bows, both recurve and longbows.

one of my reasons for starting this thread is i was wondering if 2-blades produce blood trails that are just as good as 3 or 4 blades, if someone wants to post pics that would be awsome

search PowWow for "blood" and you will see some good pics of blood trails.
especially one on May 26 by Highplains.
the new Woodsman in 100 grain is only an inch wide and with a 50,75 or 100 grain arrow insert i think this 3 blade would be awesome.  a friend of mine has shown me a couple exit holes on deer he has shot with them and you can see daylight through them.

Bayhunter like i said at the top of your thread i have shot both 2,3,and 4 blade heads.I was a booking agent for the Santa Catalina and Santa Cruz islands off the coast of LA for bow hunters for many years. The amimals were hogs, spanish goats and sheep.Had alot of time to see the effect of all three styles of broadheads.I have also shot bear, elk, deer, ect.It all came down to this. All do great if put in the right spot.I have had good and bad blood trails with all three.I did find a few things that eadged the 2 blade.More often i got two holes, another was  touched on by some earlier,3 and 4 blades seem to have more fat, guts, ect that clog the hole.I really have found the 2 blade a advantage for me.Hope this is of some help.

I used 3 blades for years, but a few years back I took the Magnus 1 2-blade to Solana on the end of my Gold Tips shot from my Shawnee.  Three hunts 4 shots, 4 hits (2 on one doe, a spine shot with a quick follow up), three deer on the ground with a total trail of 105 yards for all three deer.  60# bow and all 4 arrows passed through the deer, the one doe was at 27 yards and the arrow stayed in but went into her up to the fletchings.  Blood trails were very good, especially on the stingy bleeders there in TX.

Still like my 3 and 4 blades, but wouldn't hesitate to use 2-blades, as long as they are wide (at least 1 1/2") out of my 60# plus bows.

Greenies, and Concordes, and Zwickeys...oh my! I like the Bear greenies, Tusker Concordes, and Zwickey No mercy BH's in and around the 145-250 range. I have recently fell in love with my Concordes and have two delicious meat hogs in the freezer from those lovely BH's. The greenies I love because well they just work. I like the Zwickey's cause that's what I shot growing up with my Dad, along with the Bear Greenies. I tried the Concordes to try out the single bevel craze and I must say I do love the way they shoot and kill animals. They do take a little time to learn how to sharpen but once they're sharp they seem to stay sharp for a good while. Hope this helps.
