I have a new to me Black Mountain Shaman 54" 49@ 27 I draw 28" so about 51# at my draw. I am shooting gt 35/55 with a 50 grain brass insert and 145 gr point. 3fletch left wing. Now the issue. I get a bad hop and am showing bad wear on my shelf plate(velcro). If I shoot with the cock feather in the arrow flyes perfect and no shelf wear. I do not mind shooting with the cock feather in but would like to know how to solve this problem. I have tried:
moving the nocking point
twisting the nock in the shaft
adjusting brace hight up and down problem with this move is I think 7.75 is perfect as far as noise and vibration.
Same problem with aluminum and cedar
have you paper tested it at all?
I just started doing it again and I very quickly was able to fix my flight issues.
No I did not. I did bare shaft them and they flew great. just when I shoot cock feather out one of the feathers hits the shelf herd enough to effect the arrow flight.
Try this.. Add another 25 to 50 grains to the points... I often find this is a stiff arrow not clearing the shelf or the nock point is low and the shaft is bouncing off the shelf..
