ive ot a longbow that has quite some handshock.
It is not suitable for FF strings so ill have to stick with B50.
My arrow weight is already high (11 grain per pound) so thats not an option eiter.
Ive tried several sizes and positions for silencers and that didnt help.
Ive tried several brace heights but couldnt find a sweet spot, either.
In another thread here ive read that reducing the weight at the tips might help, my question is, if i shorten the tips behind the strin groove, could it cause the bow breaking?
Is there anything i gotta make sure?

My gut reaction is DON'T start cutting anything!! You might try adding weight to one tip - such as a tip protector or even some tape to start with. It might unbalance the harmonic vibration just enough to quiet it down.
I had a 'D' style traditional longbow last year that shook like a tuning fork when I shot it with a B50 string. Even though the manufacturer said I probably shouldn't go with FF because it was 24 years old, I did anyway and WOW what a difference. I put on an 8 strand 8125 string with padded loops and it took 90% of the vibration away. Ultimately I wasn't in love with the bow and sold it.

Might want to check the tiller. I once made a bow that shot terrible until the tiller was brought into an acceptable range. She became a very nice manner lady afterwards.
My experience with a Hill I had,I shot dacron on it and the handshock was worse when I had silencers on the string.I was alot better with no silencers at all,just a bare string.I also made up an endless loop dacron for it,it has less stretch then a flemish twist dacron.You might try the newer B55 string material,it has less stretch and creep.And it is safe for dacron bows.
