Please read this thread. I am getting a lot of PMs on how to pay for items and when to ship items and such.

Dave, just a quick question observation using PayPal -
PayPal does have the option to send money as a "gift", it's located in the second tab when you select how you want to send the money.
If the payment is sent as a "gift", there is no fee assigned to the transaction - but you don't get all the protection that PayPal offers in case something went wrong.
Personally, I've used this option a lot and have never had any issues, and as we're providing to a charity I thought this knowledge would allow the members to put more money to St. Judes than into PayPal's pocket.
The gift will work for cash donations. Problem is we need the item in the payment for the auctions and that will cause problems if gifting is used.
bump.
If you use the gift option, it automatically allows you to pay the fees. You have to uncheck the box to not pay fees.

I can only hope that I did it correctly because the money is gone from my checking account...lol

I agree - I check all over the PP page and couldn't figure out where to add the info. Include it in the confirmation email spot? (eg, "You've got money!" )
Contact Doug Campbell for the answer...
I'll try and tell him...but we are fixin to be up to our necks in alligators!!!
After you put in the payment address and amount, look at the bottom of the page. You will have 2 tabs, one that says "purchase" and one that says "personal". If you click on "personal", you will have the option of "gift". If you pay this way, St. Jude's will get 100% of the amount, ie, they will deduct no fees. At the bottom of this page, click on "continue". The next page will give you a space to send a note with your payment before you confirm the payment. Hope this helps.
Thanks guys. I know everyone is busy with the auction so I thought I could get the answer here.
Folks when your item is paid up you need to send your address to the lister of the item not us mods for the forum.
Lets keep this on the front page.
A reminder: Please include the lister/donors name and the exact description of the item, as listed in the auction. This will save Doug and myself a considerable amount of time.
Thanks,
Walt,
I forgot that when I sent payment. I sent a partial list but sent a more detailed list via email. Please let me know if you need more.
My apologies.
