Title: Shooting 3 under on a split finger tillered bow
Post by: tracker1 on May 28, 2011, 10:07:00 PM
Can you damage a split fingered bow by shooting it 3 under.  I just started to try 3 under and it seems to be making my groups tighter so would like to stay with it but all of my bows are split finger tiller.

I've never noticed any difference, just a matter of moving the nock point.

Go do it....  I have shot 3 under since the late 60's on bows tillered for split.  No problem just raise nock point.

I just got my first 3 under tillered bow this year...  shoots the same

Ok thanks guys for the quick response.  I never tried 3 under till a couple of days ago and I'm liking the results,  but it just hit me if it would hurt the bow at all.

as well said, no issues.

then again, whether split, 3 under or flemish double, it's the finger under the nock that takes the lion's share of the load ... either the "pluck yew" or the pointer finger.
