Title: Smarty Pants with New Arrows
Post by: dakota tim on May 25, 2011, 09:28:00 PM
My son just finished some arrows & then did this:

What he doesn't quite get is that "Robin Hoods" are a good thing.  A couple years ago he got one shooting with his brother.  They both came in looking like they did something wrong.  He thought he was in trouble because it was my arrow that he broke.  He was kind of shocked when I gave him a high-five.  Well no Robin Hood but he got close shooting off two feathers but he had to fix them for the picture!

It's my Northern Mist Baraga #54 @ 28 62" that he stole from me!  I forgot to add that he shot this group @10 yards.

He's got good-taste in his T-shirts....

And I *like* that pink-fletchin'!

Shoot straight, Shinken

I think I would take him hunting with me!  Assuming he can hit a live target the same as a bale.

Not to take a thing from yer kids great shooting, but seeing the group, I recall a post many years ago by someone coming back from Compton or such...

There were adults with kids on a kids range and so this chap said a parent volunteered to stay so he went for a shoot.

Came back and his kid had a perfect group like that of your son's. When asked how he managed that (he was a young tyke as I recall) he shrugged and said, "It was easy, I kept pulling just the ones that weren't perfect and kept shooting till they all were!"

Now that is the making of a true traditionalist!

Congrats to your son. Nothing like youthful eye-hand coordination to help accuracy!

Thanks for all the kind words! :archer:

I shot with Josh after the picture was taken & I whipped him good.  My secret was to make sure he wasn't wearing that shirt!  It makes me feel good since he stole my bow!  I'm stuck shooting his "old" bow now.  But it's a Treadway so I can't complain.

I would have to move my butt to my own little corner on the other side of the house if I had a kid shooting like that.
