Last year I am been blessed by the visit of Steve S a member from Colorado. We went scout for ibex and we were lucky to find a herd of mature male.
Looking forward to this one! I doubt I will ever see them in person but seeing them through your eyes will be wonderful!

Coloradotrad is a good and experienced bowhunter and was able to arrive close for some good pics. You can find the story on PowWow somewhere.

The next leg of this trip begins the next April and there is some more snow on the groud.
This guy is a good friend of mine a former(he still does)mountain runner and a great rifle hunter. He is a traditional archer too and sometime a bowhunter.Guido is a great guide and he has spent most of his life hunting the Alps, but he is been also in Africa,Syberia and Sisghikistan for Ibex,as wellas Eastern Europe and a trip with me in Colorado and Canada.
My friends follow me!
Your good friend Felix at the beginning of the trail.

The scenery is awesome. Thanks for taking the time to post these great photos.
BTW, when I was kid over 50 years ago and my dad was stationed in Germany, your photos of the region remind me of Garmisch when Garmisch was a little sleepy alpine village.
Thank you for taking the time to post, some beautiful pictures of some amazing country.
Cheers Mate
Paul
Great pics, Felix!
Ive been to Monte Rosa about 8 years ago with my parents, the scenery looks familiar.
Thanks for taking us along...im following.
Beutiful
(http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx293/dazzafelix/DSCN0664.jpg)
Most of the tree here are beech and aspen. On the snow we were able to clearly see the track of roe deer and wild boar.It is incredible how those boars are good on the mountain.
At a higher elevation we saw plenty of track of red stag and then of chamois.
Thanks for sharing the pics...sure is a beautiful place!!
Everywhere the boars digged the ground.
They make huge holes!
Next to the timberline.
from here begins the kingdom of the chamois.
These are wonderful pictures of a very beautiful area.
Thanks for allowing me to experience, what I never will, through your lens and stories.
Away from the crowd.
mountains everywhere.
Old stone cabins from shepards on the S. slope.
they were here, maybe in the morning!
sweet!!
But now it is time for a break, there is a stone cabin here that is used as a base camp from some hunters,we want to relax for a moment!
I'd like to go inside....cold!
All what we need a bench and a table.

That,my friend, this is an Italian salami;it is something that some people is still making arising pigs and feeding them better that their own children and then before Christmas transform in these incredible food.Mamma mia.I never seen something like that in the US store but I hope you can find them somewhere!

You are right Ron,they are cheap but make a great service.
My lungs are burning and my mouth is watering but it was sure worth it. Thanks for the hike!
Looks like a rugged place to live and hunt. Glad I don't have to turn a tractor around in that terrain!
Very nice pics! thank you
I also have a few Opinel knives, they work well.
Awesome Felix. Thanks so much for sharing. Very impressive country. I cant believe those boar can live in such cold climate.

More wild boar activity on the way back.
Be seeing you!
Thanks for taking us along. How feasible is a hunt with you for an American?
I travel to Europe somewhat often and could probably add a week to a trip? The country looks fabulous and I love the looks of the Ibex and Chamois.
Terry,you have a PM.
Fantastic tour Felix! My trip last fall was all about seeing the tourist sights. This one leans much more to my personal tastes. My mouth is watering from the food pic - brings back some memories. I discovered that Italians just don't put up with second rate food. It's all delicious.
s.
Beautiful country, think of the human history in those mountains. Thanks for sharing your trip.
It's all beautiful Felix. Thanks you so much for feeding our dreams!
Felix, Ti ringraziamo per me lungo il mio amico.
Incredible country, good pic with the binocs, always looking up, I imagine. Funny what you notice, I'm filling a woodshed these days and am impressed with that one in the shepherds camp. Not a flat piece of ground to be found!
Yes the Alps are very steep this is the reason it is called alpine climbing! It is better to be on shape but it is rewarding for the landscape you'll see.
Awesome pictures sir!
Great pics of beautiful country! Thanks for sharing with us.
Beautiful!! thanks for sharing!

Awesome trip, Felix!
Killdeer
Felix,
Thanks for sharing your pictures and commentary. Those mountains are beautiful and the feeding Ibex ... your part of the planet is certainly beautiful and exotic.
I love reading mountain climbing books -- 4-5 every summer. Your pictures of Europe #2 looks like a fantastic climb. My wife gets a bit worried that I'll get a wild hair and go try it (as if)...then she sees me favor my left knee as I head downstairs to the range and she snaps back to reality.
Looks like I'll be a bit north of you next week and again in August. Our daughter needs a bit of company while her hubby works on some planes near Libya. I'd love to take along one of my bows and some arrows but I'm afraid the King'll throw me in a dungeon?
Thanks for the pic trip! Great stuff! Perfect lunch to top if off (with some hefeweisen dunkel bach that is)
Felix, beautiful pictures of a wild frontier. I was stationed in Zwiebrucken Germany from 1985-1988 and flew over the Alps often in performance of my duties. Brings back great memories!
Lovely pics! Thank for sharing them with us.

Greetings from Julian alps ( from Slovenia).
Luka
Good Stuff! Thanks Felix...
These pics are taken on the W portion of the Central Alps called Pennine. The 3 major peaks of Europe are here, one hour drive from my home.
Felix buddy. I gotta come hunt with you WOW.
Thanks, that is great
Thanks for the pics and story Felix. I was in Italy a couple of years ago chaperoning a group of high school kids with my wife the teacher. The best part of the trip to me was the bus ride through the mountains on our way to France. It gave me relief from the city and all the cathedrals and museums. I was so disappointed that the only one awake during that beautiful ride besides me was the bus driver.
Felix , the pi9cture of the Ibex with that background is just unbelieveable. that is one critter I would not mind hunting. Thanks so much for sharing. God bless you, Steve
Felix, verry nice but it makes my lungs hurt not to mention my legs.
thanks
That is awesome country. Thanks for sharing. My grandparents were born in Italy, but brought very few photos when they came to States in their early teens.
