Just stained and putin the clear coat on my new hickory u finish longbow I got yesterday. Can't weight to shoot it.The handle is made out of heart wood. The firs longbow I ever owned. Now I just got to get some traditional arrows. Can't see using the ones I used for my compound on this bow.

When you get it going, the set up specs would be great to know.

I have thought about trying one of the finish it yourself kits, but always find something else to spend the money on.

One thing to keep in mind, there's a lot of handle to get around on a selfbow. You will need weaker spine than you are used to. Your drawlength will be shorter, too, so start low.

Good luck!

Pop some pics on us so we can admire it.  Everybody really wants to build their own even me.
