Hiya boys, just wanted to show off my latest find. I was working at a customers home they other day and noticed some hunting and archery gear sitting on the floor.
We got to talking because i have the same bow case. The older gentle man said that all that stuff is goin to the yard sale and asked if I would like to take a look. Well long story short, this man pulls out a Bear "Grizzly" in pristine condition. Guys when I say pristine I mean it look like it just came off the show room floor.
Heres where it gets good. Holding back my amazement off the condition of this old bow. He asks me if I am interested in buying it along with ALL its accessories and matching bear arrows.
I reply hell yes I am...he "oh good because I really didn't think I would be able to sell it".
Gimme $20 bucks for everything

I'll get some pics up soon, seem photobucket is down right now?
Great story... I do real estate home inspections and I keep hoping to run across a find like this. Hundreds of houses in the last 6-7 years and maybe seen archery gear 3 times. I'd like to see pics if the bucket starts working again.
PhotoBucket is working fine for me. What's your malfunction?
You are perhaps the luckiest son of a gun out there. Gonna have to say i hate you lol. Thats the stuff dreams are made of (at least my dreams) :bigsmyl:

One HECK of a deal, indeed! You probably need to buy a lottery ticket. :clapper:

Thanks guys, I did feel a little bad when I got home and thought about it. But he was happy so I guess I can't dwell on it.
Does anyone know how to tell the age or year the bow was made?

WHAT A PACKAGE! By the looks I am thinkin a 1967. What is the serial #?
In the mid to late 1960's you could tell the year by the first # of the serial #.
I have a 1967 43# that I was stacking up arrows with last night. I really like that bow.
That's a find of a lifetime.
What is the serial #, AMO and weight?
you are a very lucky man. post this in the trad history/collecting forum and they can help you with the year it was made. don
Hey thanks guys here's the serial# 7R6367
1967!
I have a "thing" for Grizzlies. I have a few of them. My 1967 is defintely one of my favorites, if not THE favorite right now. I am not sure what it is about that year but I have heard from others how much they like 1967 as well. It was a good year for Grizzlies. Not the prettiest year, not the ugliest, but one thing is for sure, mine sure does shoot well.
Enjoy that bow!
ceme thanks alot for the info, by the way she's a 44lber @ 28.
Can't wait to get out a put some arrows through it.
Congrats! It was your lucky day.
Surprize that man on his next birthday.
Naw, that's a Chinese knockoff; $29.99 at Wally World. I'll take it off your hands for $50.00 as a bowfishing rig.
Nice find, enjoy!
I was about to offer to double your money if you don't like it. Now I am going to have to triple it :)
That's the same bow I killed my first deer with in 1969. Mine was 43#.
Very nice find!
Good deal. As for the old man he got about what he paid for it new.
Great find
The important thing is that it no longer sits in the box.
That bow was built by people who cared, and it was built to to shoot and hunt!
Congrats on your purchase...make the most of it!
Very happy for you. Everyone should experience that once. You have a piece of history, great to see it go to a guy who appreciates it, and shares this joy with us.
My guess is the gentleman that sold it to you wanted to see it IN GOOD HANDS, appreciated. Pricing etc... was not his first priority, some one enjoying the bow likely was.

That has been a deciding factor on alot of things I have parted with. It's a great theory to live by.
