Allen Boice just sent me en email stating that my new Liberty Longbow is done and on it's way. This is my hunting bow for this season. This past winter after the season I was looking for a LB that fit ME. Well I tried a bunch of them. Trust me when I say a bunch. My wife swears that all the money I have in shipping charges I could have bought two bows!! Anyhow, I shot some really nice bows but didn't find the one that just "fit" me. I thought I was done when I received an email from Allen saying he had just sent a test bow to me. I was like, shoot, another one to ship back. Here I thought I was done. I had forgotten all about this one. So the bow arrived and I pulled it from the box. Lets just say that it was so sweet looking that I ordered the exact same bow when I got mine. I started shooting the bow and immediately was impressed. Smooth to draw, calm on the release(no shock at all),and shot with authority. Now I'm not a speed guy at all. Could really care less. But when I shot this bow I had to do a double take on the weight. I was shooting a 600 grain GT and it was smoking out of this 47# bow!! I recently bought an Easton scale from the recommendation of brother Rob D. just for cases like this. So I went to the basement and had to check the weight. Dead on !!!
After about 2-weeks of shooting I figured I'd better get this baby back to Allen.(I had already ordered mine).
I would just recommend to all in search of a new LB to take a look at Liberty bows. These babies are sweet!! Pics to come next week when it gets here. I just can't shoot it for another 4-weeks due to shoulder surgery. :( Until then......
Allen builds a super longbow. They shoot good and his workmanship is top notch. I don't know how many dollars I have spent trying to figure out I'm not a longbow guy but it is a bunch! The Chief I had was one of the better longbows that passed through my hands.
Great choice. I received the new Liberty Edge in March. It is a great bow, however, I prefer the Contender over the Edge. Ken
I have his English and Chief Elite. There is not a flaw in either and do they ever shoot nicely. Allen is a pure gentleman too. What he promises is what you get
From one jarhead to another, congrats on a fine bow.

Wonderful bows made by a real gentleman . Congrats mate !
Of course , we need pics upon arrival !
Another Top Notch Man & Bowyer !!
I had one of his English bows and sold it. Wish I had it back. It was the best shooting longbow I ever shot. You will love that Contender. Congratulations. Please post some pics when you get her.
Congrats, I want to see pics when it comes.
Like Ringneck, I have also figured out that I am better off with a recurve. But there are 3 Libertys on the rack that are not going anywhere. Of all the longbows I have owned and shot trying to figure out which would work the best for me, the Liberty was top of the heap. I still get my Liberty Chief and Contenders down and shoot them quite a bit. And Allen is a great guy to boot.
Skilled craftsman and a good guy! Recover and enjoy that new bow!
This why i Love Liberty Longbows.....
this is an English 50# @ 27"

Pics should be coming Tue/wed this week.
The bow is a 64" Contender 55@27. It has cocobola riser with yew veneers. It is flawless! Enjoy.

Geez, that is a nice looking bow,my favorite woods, right weight and length, definately on my short list ,trades! LOL.
Not this one Steve. This one will be in a stand this fall. Thanks.
Really nice, as always from Allen!
Wow that is sweet, coco & yew, good choices!!
I had my hands on that bow, boy i wish it was a lefty. Its a work of art.
Contenders are very good bows, I bought a used hinged takedown that shot well...but the grip was a bit larger than I like and I didn't like the pronounced locator so sold it. But, the workmanship and finish on Boice bows are top notch and you won't find nicer Myrtle than Allen uses.
Contender is a good choice if you like D-style design with a locator grip. Congrats!
