Title: Experience with short A&H ACS longbows ?
Post by: widow sax on May 19, 2011, 07:10:00 PM
Has anyone had any experiences with short acs longbows with the 12" riser how do they feel, shoot and preform. If you have or had there 14" riser how do they compair. I got the chance to shoot a round and crony a 62" at the Baltimore shoot last weekend my buddy bought used there my problem I dont prefer longer length bows. I know they have not sold a ton of them yet but sales for the shorter ones are increasing.   Widow

yup, i've had a one piece 58" CX model for a few weeks.  i have a 48# and it shoots just great.  harvested a gobbler last Sunday with it, in fact.
it's smooth and fast.
i did, however, have to get used to it gaining poundage very quickly and then "staying there."  it definitely does not stack.
i would recommend an ACS CX very highly.

You may wish to consider sending PM's to both Jerry Wald and Zmonster.

Information from both of these Trad Gang'rs should satisfy your inquiries. Keep in mind that no information can override your own personal experience and fit with a particular bow. I am confident that these guys can give you the skinny based on their own personal needs.

I have the 14 (66"), 16 RC (66") and 12 (62") risers...for me the 12" is the best and I have just ordered a new one: the bow at my DL (29.5) is as smooth as the 66" but the grip is much more comfortable (however I had also a vey good feeling with the standard 14")...the limbs, more wider at their basis are more stiff and less releases' errors sensitive...the length of work of the 62" new limbs is longest that's the length of my 66" silvertip LB and at the same draw weight it is smoother to draw that this one!that's their best bow !

I have had 66" , 64" , 62" on the 14" riser. I now have the 62" on the 12" riser and it is my favorite. I have not found anything to compare with the performance of these bows. I have one that is 42 @ 28 and one that is 49@ 28. Both great shooters.
Take care, Randy
