I posted a few days ago that two long-awaited bows arrived last Friday. I promised pictures of them. Here are the Silvertip Pictures.
This bow is the TD Recurve, LH, 58", 53#@28" and 47.6#@26". It is FF compatible with Rosewood Dymonwood in the riser with Macassar Flares. The limbs are veneered with Myrtle from Idahocurt. The limbs are tipped with elk antler (sheds from what will be new PY World Record -- sorry can't help myself). The checkering is Dave's own and I had a Bear 18mm compass installed.
This is only my 2nd custom-ordered recurve. My other bows are stock or or inventory bows or bows I've bought from other Trad Gangers. I ordered the bow with the flush allen bolt limb attachments and the Schafer knurly knobs.
I am tickled beyond belief.
The bow is very sweet shooting!

I'll likely pull that shelf rug off the bow when I'm settled on the Bear Weather Rest. I'm liking the Weather Rest pretty good right now.
Dang...that's a fine looking bow!!
beautiful bow. I'd have a hard time taking that one out of the house.
Dibbs!!! :archer:
Roy,you have designed a GREAT looking bow,I like that flare and the compass too!
Absolutely lovely!
Very nice looking Tip..!!
I love the riser combo
Beautiful bow.Congratulations!
Excellent!
Another BEAUTY from Montana!!!
Should be some good mojo in those antler tips...
Those are beautiful limbs.
Love it.
Thanks folks. I waffled a lot on a few items:
1. Whether to have the bow drilled and tapped for a springy style plunger rest.
2. Antler on the window back and around the limb bolts.
3. Exotic or Dymonwood around the flares.
Eventually, I decided on a bit more simple so I reduced the antler. I wanted FF and the Dym is required for warranty-sake. I love the plunger springy in my "The Stick" and believe that's why I shoot that bow best. But it seemed such a violation of the Silvertip to put a big ole hole in the riser.
Beth and Dave are terrific to work with. They tolerated all my questions and provided pictures of verious combos as I contemplated the woods in this bow. I was especially grateful they were willing to contact IdahoCurt when I saw those myrtle veneers on PowWow a couple months ago.
Several of you were a great help as you shared pictures of your bows and flushed out various wood combinations. So when you ask questions about possibilities, know that some of us are lurking and poaching various ideas.
A work of art he dose make beautiful bows. Widow
Wow Roy, thats a fantastic tip. Congrats.
Very nice indeed!!
How does the grip section of the handle compare to a Bear Supreme TD? Enquiring minds want to know.
Jeepers that thing is sweet! Yep. Dave and Beth are a class act. Can't wait for our Silvertip shoot at Denton Hill.
Roy, Got to love those Widows. Great looking bow. Love It.
The throat of the Supreme and the Silvertip (at least mine) are almost identical in circumference at 4.25".
The Supreme is slimmer from side to side than the Tip. The face of the Supreme, being skinnier, seems to fit in the life-line of the bow hand very consistently from shot to shot.
However, I like the bit of palm swell in the Tip and of course the checkering keeps the bow hand firmly in place throughout the shot.
I think the Supreme grip promotes consistency like a metal riser. However, I prefer the "glove-like custom fit" of the Tip a bit more -- it feels like part of my hand.
That bow is real easy on the eyes. WOW!
Well Roy, you have expanded the category of beauty.
Is it Dream Bow Annie or just the Boone and Crockett of bows?
How impressive!!!!!!!!
Beautiful bow!
great bow congrats
Best looking ff shafer that I have seen. Great taste!!
Now that's a nice Tip Roy....probably the best looking one I've even seen, next to mine...HA.
Great wood combo, and those veneers are spectacular.
Looks like you have it set up just like I prefer....holler when you get tired of it.

The difference between boys and men... :D
No suprise, another beauty from Dave & Beth. I have two of my own. I was going to get the flare riser on my last one but changed my mind at the last moment, bad move I see.
Good shooting
I didn't know Tips were offered with a flare. How long has he been doing this variation on the riser? Any idea where to see more pics of 'flared' riser tips? i didn't see any on the website - unless i didn't look in the right spot.
Very nice! Congrats
mg

I gotta say that is one sweet looking grip... very svelte... looks so appealing to my medium sized hands.
You have one fine bow there, lots of thought and touches to really make it your own.
