Well guys I have been off line for a few months getting the home ready to move. I finnaly found a place to live and I am leaving on Saturday May 21st for Georgia. I had a deep desire to be as close to Biggie H. as I could(just kidden)so I found a nice home south of Atlanta in Jonesboro( 5br-3ba). I look forward to getting together with you Georgia boys for some good hunting. After being in Jersey all my life and hunting midget deer I look forward to Big deer and hogs.Thank you to all who gave me the information to help me out with the different towns. Your kindness and display of brotherhood is what makes this place my home.
GEORGIA BOUND!! Yeee Hawww
That's cool! Good luck with the move!
I was wondering how you have been. Glad things have been moving along well.
I envy you and the hog hunting possibilities but not the heat.
Dont get to excited about the deer, they aint all that big in the south either lol. Congradulations on the move brother
No more shooting in the basement in the winter!
Always a good thing to get out of NJ, IMHO, but there are some pretty big deer if you get away from the pine barrens.
Best of luck in your new territory.
Remember to switch your voicebox from 78 to 33-1/3 rpm and count to three before replying when conversing with the natives. They ain't slow, but you is expected to give a body time to think and room to breathe. As it should be. :archer:
And slow down when driving!
My wife is from Georgia...I have been down there many times. It's a beautiful place...u should love it!
Ahhh noo....... Another yankee moving down here....................
LOL!! I'm just kidding! I married a girl from Illinois if it makes you feel better!
Welcome to the Peach State! You're in the best state bar none in the southeast to find a big buck!
We also have fine turkey hunting, excellent bass fishing, some kick butt saltwater fishing, and other great outdoor opportunities.
If you haven't found www.gon.com, (http://www.gon.com,) check out the forum there for taditional archery. NGTA has a shoot the first Sunday of the month thru Aug. Archery deer season starts in Sept.- Don't leave th NJ plate on the front of your car GA only has a plate on the rear. Good Luck, Dave

Froggy I will definitely look you up. Mike I have a ton of resume's out and A possible fire fighter job(already certified). I have enough funds to hold us over for a while. The wife is a social worker and she also has some possible jobs. Most of the Law enforcement jobs I need to be in state to do the physical, and will be doing a few of them in the next few months.
Your gonna be impressed with the land you can walk around in with your bow for 19 bucks a year..RC
I think it's time to update where you're from ;) ! Welcome to south of the Mason-Dixon line! I hope you enjoy... May God bless!
Welcome. I am not too terribly far away in Fayetteville. I have plenty of room to sling arrows on a daily basis, so if you don't have a good spot to practice let me know. Hope all goes well getting settled in. Let me know if need any help.

You're gonna have to start sayin' y'all, c'mere, git, and other stuff like that.
Somebody take him noodlin'. But watch out for snappers.
Welcome to the south!!
Eat some shrimp and grits for me.
Look up the Clayton County Water Authority.
Jonesboro is in Clayton County.
The water authority owns quite a bit of land very close by to you and they have archery only hunts every season on it.
There have been quite a few Pope and Young bucks arrowed on that piece of dirt.
19 bucks... I'm spending about 10 times that just for licenses and permits- TO HUNT MY OWN LAND!! I gotta get outta here, Good Luck. Eat a Peach, (Allman Brothers rule in GA)
Welcome to the South. Enjoy all it has to offer.
Welcome to the south; You will enjoy the weather and the hunting is top of the line; prayers and good luck to you and your family; God's protection and speed.
:campfire:
Yea when deer seasons starts it is still 90 degrees,so a thermalcell will be required and snake boots for the occasional rattler or moccasin, pre spray all your hunting gear withanti tick repellant since they will be thick also.welcome to the south, not that you know all the bad stuff still a great place to live.
Hey, we are neighbors.
Now get some camo shorts and have a tattoo artist start doing your legs in a camo pattern in preparation for the archery season.
It gets too hot for real clothes.
Cool !
ell, just an update, I got down here Monday and issues happened with the landlord not telling me what happened to the previous tenant.Son I was able to find another home in Mcdonough,Ga. Its not to far away and now 5 days later I am moving again, this time for good.So McDonough will be my new residence in about 3 days. Thanks for all the kind words and welcomes.Tim
Good Luck Tim.
Glad you found out about the issues at place 1 before you were too settled.
you should "Git" after them hogs to take the stress level down a notch.
Good on ya, Tim!

I almost gagged at the thought of grits...lol
I hope you get settled in real soon. I have been around all the different nationalities of our American folks, even a few good ones from Arkansas and Indiana but they don't come much better ones than those southern Americans from "Gawga".
The only warnings I've heard much about is that the "skeeters" down there would endanger the turkey population iffen they was grain eaters..lol
I'm sure glad to know that you finally got to move up in the world though.
Looking forward to reading about your new hunting situation and all around plaverings.
God bless,Mudd
Mudd, You`ve not lived till you eat catfish and grits on a sandbar early morning while watching a beautiful sunrise on the Ocmulgee River while you listen for pigs......Prolly the only thing better is eating the grilled backstraps that evening.RC
Enjoy! I was stationed there at one time and met my wife. Miss that deer season...nothing but air and opportunity out there for deer hunting. It will take awhile to acclimate to that southern drawl. I couldn't understand most of the folks I spoke with.....I didn't know I was dating my future wife for six months. I just thought she was really friendly. You will like it and the hospitality.
Guys thanks for all the good wishes.I am finally settled in and working to catch up on some unexpected expenditures.
I am looking forward to catching up and meeting up with some of you that are around my area.Someone has to teach me how to hunt pigs. Thanks again guys. Tim
I am located in McDonough. Shoot me a PM if you want to fling a few arrows or chase some pigs.
Welcome to GA!
Greg
Hello Tim, welcome south.
If you would like to get you and your bow loosened up, and meet a few folks from around these parts, we are having a little 3D fun shoot at my house on July 2. Likely about 50 or so
fellow stickbow shooters and arrow hunters.
I live about 30 minutes from you; just north of Douglasville. It will be good times, and good folks and you are more than welcome to join us.
J
Jake, that would be great.I will PM you.
Greg I will shoot you a PM in a few. Thanks
Hey Jake you have no email account on your info page.
Man RC...that is living the "High Life" right there. Brings back fond memories.
Benny
Check out the new archery range at Panola Mtn State park. It is located on the Henry and Dekalb co line along the South River. They have a 23 target 3d range and a static range also. It is a great range and hardly anyone is ever there. You should be pretty close. I go once or twice a week. In fact, I am going on Saturday. Feel free to join me anytime.
Best of luck in Georgia ! I have had a couple memorable hunts there and hope to return . The buck in my avatar came from the Paradise and if the rest of Georgia is half as nice you made a grea move , I envy you , but some one has to stay behind and hunt these Jersey Pinebarren giants . and I know what you mean Owlgrowler about license fees . Best of luck , Fred
