This really made my day when I received this....and has added to my days ever since. Several things have happened lately that really has helped put life back into true perspective for me.
I got this package from Bob Walker in the mail, and the contents are on a shelf in my office now.
The following was what I received....
I had a great hunt at the locations those plates diagram....I filled my Jave tags there in short order. Once filled, I took Joe Coots there and he got a Javi, and then I took Doc 'Tippit' there the last morning and he filled a tag there.
This spot that I'd found was so hot, I just had to pass it along to someone in group two that was coming in as we left. So, I drew out the layout of the area on these plates....and I decided to give them to Bob Walker. I also told him it was impossible to draw out the maze of gates at what I called 'the carousel'. You had to navigate this cluster of nonsense making gates just to GET to my area, and that I had marked every gate with survey tape. I told Bob to just stay to right of every ribbon going in, and to the left left going out. Yes, it was that confusing.
In doing this, the plates continued the hunt....by the time the 2nd group wrapped it up, this area was responsible for at least EIGHT kills. And it was really cool reading Bob and his crews stories about their hunts in that area when they returned.
Anyway....Bob has been holding onto those plates since 2006!!!! I called Bob and we chatted for at least an hour....not only did we relive this hunt, but we talked about life in general and issues we've been dealing with.
There was a thread last year here titled 'What have you learned at Trad Gang'?.
Well, I can tell you, over and over and over I learn that the memories that have been created here are priceless. :campfire:
Amen!
Nice pick me up to say the least. Hang in there!
Glad he's well. Cool relics of of past hunts like that are sometimes better than kills.
It's been a great ride here on trad gang, glad I joined.
That is cool stuff! Thanks for posting it up for us Terry!
I think I know the shooting house at the hub on the bottom plate.
Is this the one?

That trip was my first exposure in person to anyone here on Trad Gang. It remains one of my all time favorite memories, and has led to many more along with countless fantastic friendships.
Bob stacked 'em up.

I recognized those plates right away! Joe, you took the words right out of my mouth. Thanks Terry :campfire:
I think the older we get the more we realize that tomorrow is not guaranteed. Times/things like these little pieces of paper are priceless to say the least. Since adopting my little saying at the bottom of all my posts I have a new outlook on life. Thanks Terry for sharing.

This one got loose on the net and bandwidth got maxed and the server got taxed cause Lord of The Rings fans thought Théoden: 'King of Rohan' was a member here.

Man I luv those movies!
Glad to see this post. Just mentioned to "Ric O'Shay" that Bob had not posted on TG in a while. Was wondering what happened to him. Glad to see he is up and running. We missed you brother.
that Bob Walker is a treasure of a friend to me, love him like a brother, great story Terry.... :campfire:
Synchronicity - This seems to be the intersection where fate and time and places and Gods will all come together in such a perfect manner that it's impossible to think it's simply coincidence. It's somewhat like not hearing from a dear friend for a long period of time and just as you pick up the phone to dial them up you realize there is no dial tone so you say "hello". And there you find that that person you've been thinking about is on the other end of the line. The phone never rang but as you picked it up they were there. Ironic? Maybe not...... It's been that kind of day here for me as well. Glad I decided to stop by after a long absence. Just happened to be the same day all this happened. Those are very fond memories that I share as well. I loved seeing Dad hanging out of the blind smiling and waving. He filmed Bob shortly after the photo stalking a javelina. Good stuff!
I want to thank all that posted here, especially Terry for starting this thread. As a direct result, I have re-lived many past hunts over the last couple of days. Each time I looked at a new picture, it brought back so many fond memories, especially of the friendships that have been forged. It also has reminded me that many of my dearest friends have come from tradgang!
The past couple of years have been challenging, to say the least, but by the grace of God, I have come out stronger and wiser. As Curtis said, Synchronicity is an amazing thing, ie, God works in mysterious ways!
Terry, be sure and tell the "rest" of the plate story concerning Doug Campbell and your conversation a few weeks ago.
And Charlie, I guess I have missed our "pokes" the most, lol!!
Same here bro!!
:wavey: Bob.
This thread just made a long day shorter. Good stuff.
I was chatting with Doug while we were hunting a couple of weeks ago about how I 1st met Bob and the plates. .....then a few days later the plates show up.
Yeah....what Curtis said...that synchronicity thing.... :campfire:
Trad Gang is a wonderful place! :campfire:
Bob..Good to see you doing well.Maybe get to see you around this year at one of the shoots. Will be at STAR and hopefully Doc's,maybe someone can round up Big Ron.take care
Danny
I really like that bow Bob used. I'm glad to see you (Bob) back, I hope to see Joe here also. This means a lot to me to see you back, as I don't really like the way thing a moving..
Bob
Valueble thread - Often times the heart and soul of men remain obscure but revealed, expressed, comforted and re-united thru TG.
Trad Gang reaches far beyond the bow.
