Just few photos from this past thursday. I put together a little something special for my son and thought maybe you guys would enjoy the ride. =)
it all started a few months ago, when my little guy asked me if he could shoot a bow an arrow and come hunting with me..... can a dad say no to that?

I think he knew dad made him something extra special.... =)
to say he was excited was a little bit of an understatement! I'll see if I can get some more pictures up here soon!
Congrats. Can't wait til my kids "want" to shoot with me.
I am so glad that my wife was able to capture this moment with the camera!

=) I think my dog is hoping Austin doesn't think he is the target..... =)
I asked Austin what he wanted to shoot at, and he said, " A coyote, dad!" So I went and got a black marker and created what I thought looked like a coyote.... the neighbor thought it looked like his dog, but I assured him it was a coyote....

mom helped sew up a quiver complete with a fur lining and antler and turkey feather decorations... good job, mom! Here is a picture of his gear. The smaller bow is one that I made him as a newborn to welcome him into the world.
That is the bow we have hunted his favorite stuffed moose with many times! =) Obviously he is growing like a weed, so dad has gotta keep up with the equipment now.
Well, he does have a little sister too that may follow in his footsteps. =)

last, wanted to thank Tony for hooking me up with the kids nocks and points.... those arrows he has have some spare nocks I have used, and it was very frustrating for Austin to have the arrows keep falling off the string.... He is also shooting some extreme weight forward arrows as I only had 125 grain glue ons.... It did put a hurtin on the coyote target, but the points Tony sent are really gonna help out!
Thanks again, bud!
That's one happy kid! Great job dad!
That's awesome man :)
Thanks to ishiwannabe (Jamie) for the leather that I got in the white elephant.... it definitely came in handy for the quiver and grip of the bow....
The feathers were from last years white elephant from manitboa stickflinger.... and the osage was from someone on here from maybe two years ago? I wish I could remember that far back!
Austin and I wanted to share this with you guys, because you are a huge part of this celebration! I am very thankful for this family, to help my little guy train up in the "trad" ways. Thanks guys!
Those photos are PRICELESS,he'll remember this day forever.
:bigsmyl: The expression on his face in the second picture says it all!!!
I have some cool shooting pictures too, I'll see if I can dig those up this evening... Austin is only 3, and I knew it will be a learning process. But with some guidance and help, he did a great job, we shot for about 2 hours! I was very impressed, as was his mom... of course she was a little nervous, but after seeing him shoot a couple dozen times, she too was very excited! =) BIG WIN. =)
It was a very good opportunity to go through some "safety rules" too!
Good job!
