You might want to bring snowshoes it's still snowing. Like I said pm me I'll give you the info on that unit that I know.
PM sent Jimmy! Thanks, David
Hey buddy, glad you drew! Best wishes. Now, get ready with the prep! And brush up on your story tellin' skills and take lots of photos.
Congrats!!
Best of luck to ya Snag!
Anyone have any helpful info. on the Manti unit? I'll be getting there a few days before the hunt and will try and put in the miles to check the lay of the land out as best as can be done with only this much time. I'll been trying to topo map scout out different areas to look at. Lots of ground to consider!
I sure do :) We need to pm numbers, we need to wait til the snow comes off a bit. Snowed on my baits today at 6000 ft. Talk to you soon. Congrats on the tag!
Contact Steadman he should know the area. If not I can point you to some one who does.
Thanks,
Oops, sorry bout that am on my phone and didn't see Ruan's post :knothead: :knothead:
Excellent news David!
Now to prepare in earnest!
:archer2:
Shoot straight, Shinken
That's one way to make sure summer lasts forever!
Congrats on the tag - you'll have a great hunt I'm sure.
You're right there Whip. I think this could be the looongest June, July, and most of August on record! haha
Shinken, I'll have my gear fine tuned many times over by the opener. I am on a mission.
Way to go snag!! Don't forget the camera!
You go Snag.Congrats and Im sure youll make us proud.Way to go on the persistance and organization to get that tag.
Bjorn, the camera is a must. There will be so many beautiful things to capture on film...uh, I mean digitally...?
My friend who will be sharing this adventure is an outstanding elk caller. It will be a huge plus. We will be trying to get in on the big bulls early before they gather up their cows.
Have fun! I love it out here!
Wow!!! Have a great hunt...
I just checked to see if I had mail from Utah but nothing? I also checked their web-site and the application still shows open? Maybe they notify the folks who drew first? Oh well still hoping
Congrats ... Pics, pics, pics :)
Snag did you find out by email?
looks like I'll be there ahead of you. (to live..not for a bull tag) hopefully we'll have a place you can crash and then bring meat back to. I guess I could help pack it out and maybe do some scouting too?
Congrats snag you will have a good time I know a couple of guys that will get me some info a little later on in the year. Enjoy the prep time it is a journey enjoy the whole thing. Hey coaster the results are not out yet you need to check your credit card to see if you have a hit on it that is how people are finding out now.
Congrats, glad for you. Have fun and lots of luck.
I think I must have checked my credit card about 50X before it showed up there as a charge yesterday. Hope it works out for you guys who applied. I've had a couple of guys send me pics of bulls they shot in that unit....WOW! I know it's far from a guaranteed deal. But just to be able to hunt ground where 320 bulls are not uncommon is going to be FUN!
Okie, timing is everything. Maybe you guys moving to Utah was just meant to be!
YAHOOOOO! Sorry, every once in awhile I just have to let loose with a 8yr old pent up yell! :biglaugh:
Congrats ... GOOD Luck and be safe :jumper:
Congrats Snag!!! Looking forward to following you hunt here. Hope you shoot a monster!
Thanks guys.
I'd be very happy with one like the one in your avatar Dan!
Hey snag are you going to use one of your blacktails ?
You can bet on a Blacktail being with me on this hunt!!! I will be picking up a new one from Norm in a week. I think this one will be going with me to Utah.
Have Norm bring it to western states, great time warm it up
Steve
That's the plan Steve! haha
Great see ya there
Best too ya, David! I can taste the steaks grilling!
Like my little league coach use to say, may not be the best, but we sure are dressed for success! :biglaugh:
Look foward to a great read!
Thanks to all the guys that have come forward with info. that will really help in forming a "game plan". The pictures I've received are really making it hard to have to wait until Sept. though! :banghead:
