Title: Bear Take down Recurve
Post by: huntin_sparty on May 18, 2011, 10:27:00 AM
Ive got Bear fever after watching the Fred Bear DVDs.  No shops near by have them in stock I was curious if anyone shot the A riser with #1 limbs 56 inch bow?  I have a 27 3/4 draw and was curious if I would have finger pinch.  Let me know if anyone with 28 inch draw shot these bows and if there was any pinch?

Thanks, for your help.
Andrew

You should be fine. Best to try one first if you can as always.

I have some Bear TD and 3 As.At my 29" I don't feel any finger pinch with #1 limbs.I really love the way they shoot expecially with Rose Oak Creation limbs.

You will definitely be fine.I bought my first one in 1972 and a newer on several years ago, both 56" and have no trouble with a 29" draw.Great shooting bows too.

I really like the grip on my Kodiak magnum is it a higher wrist like that?
Thanks for the feedback!

I shoot a 56-inch Bear takedown for turkey hunting out of a blind.  Otherwise I shoot 64-inch longbows.  I have a 28-inch draw and can feel the difference in finger pinch between the 56-inch Bear and the 64-inch ACSs. It's not usually a problem.  However, if I shoot the short bow a lot on a daily basis (which I do for several weeks in advance of our turkey season) I begin to get a sore index finger.

But not all folks react the same.  If you're already shooting a Kodiak magnum (52"), and you don't feel finger pinch, you're not going to feel it with a 56-inch T/D either.

I'd characterize the magnum grip as high wrist.  By comparison, theT/D is medium.
