Title: SPONSORS....I need a String...Help !
Post by: grayfeather on May 09, 2011, 10:12:00 PM
I just bought a turkey creek longbow and I am not sure what kind of string it takes, a B 50, or ST-1. The bow is 66" 46#@28.I am totally new to this.I looked at the old turkey creek web page and it says they come with either. But I do not know if that means I can use either ? If anyone knows I would like some help.thank,s

Ok for any of the modern strings, no longer in business under the Turkey Creek name...

Yes...and its TS-1.  That is one type of "fast flight" material.  Others are TS+, 8125, D-10, etc...  Others on this site know more than I ever will regarding bow string and material.

Where are you buying the string from? We have several string makers that are sponsors here that would be more than happy to help you out and would be more than happy to build you a string.

We stock the excellent SBD high performance strings, no waiting to have one twisted for you.  Do a search for SBD if you'd like, you'll find they are very, very popular here.

It sounds like your bow is marked 66" AMO.  If I've got that correct you'd need the 66" AMO longbow string.

Hope this helps, Tim @ Braveheart

I'm having Chad (goes by LBR on TG) make me a 2 bundle, 12 strand Dyna97 flemish style bowstring for my 37# bow.

I'm not a fan of skinny 6-8 strand bowstrings.

The guys here are right, any of the "modern" strings will work.  I still prefer dacron (B-50) strings.  Some say they are quieter some say they are louder.  I am just used to using what works and I stick with it.

Loud vs. quiet... My bows are silent.

God Bless,
Nathan
