FINALLY, after monsoon after monsoon, the turkeys were cooperating in my neck of the woods this morning - the LAST day of the KY spring season! I took a 2 year old on opening day, then spent 2 weeks dodging thunderstorms and twisters. I was out of state all of last week and only had this morning - the last day, to try one more time. The big boys were prowling, gobbling their heads off, coming to calls, and attacking my decoys. My first arrow missed this guy but he was so worked up that he came back in for another round. BIG MISTAKE:^)

A limbhanger to finish the season. Well done.
Nice turkey! Congrats! Glad it all worked out on the last day.
Good shot,man and congrats!
Way to go Gary, you got love chasing turkeys. So much fun.
I hear you Gary, great job!! I have been on a dry streak, but ended that today, last day, with a #23, 10 & 1/2 inch beard, 1 inch spurs worn down to round nubs at 20 yards. The hunting is just getting good, gobblers have been henned up, and weather bad, saw a bunch on the way home with my bird.
Looking forward to seeing your photos on the other post. Yep, the hunting is ripe on the LAST DAY of the season. Go figure.
Congratulations he is a great looking bird! :clapper:
Fine bird. The kind all eastern turkey hunters hope to get a crack at. A seasoned bird for a seasoned hunter. Fitting I think. Congrats!
By the way the birds here in MS had closed lips all year until our last week. I also saw 5 bucks with headgear chasing one doe on opening day March 15th. The Crappie never really started biting good either. Strange year.
WOW! That is one beautiful bird right there! Great pics too. Congrats!
Great bird and great pictures; a big congrats;

Congrats on the beautiful bird!!
Congrats on a very nice bird Gary! Sad to see our season end, we have had such bad weather this year. But that is a great way to end it!
Congrats! Congrats!! Congrats!!!
Hunted hard but could not manage to coax a gob w/i 15 yards. Birds won once again and I was not the only one to struggle on our blessed archery- only(including crossbows) 5300 acre WMA. So far only eight birds have been checked in. The gobs were there in numbers but a little more educated than myself. It was obvious that other hunters were worn down since the crowd had dwindled significantly this last week of season. Even two of my buds, which I consider true pro's and ultra hard core turkey hunters as I have ever known were struggling- not to find birds but to manage a shot opportunity.
**Three different educated gobs even ran from one my partners prised hen stuffer last week. My dekes stayed home after the 1st week**
Dearly wish the season opener was tomorrow. Again, it was a marvelous and fulfilling time.
Yes, in many ways it has been a frustrating season. To answer an earlier question, I used an early wider version of the 250 Terminator.
Great Bird Gary!!! I know from experience those Blueglass gobblers are tougher than woodpecker lips ;) WAY TO GO
GRRRREAT bird!
Awsome bird! I wished they were on fire here. It's been my slowest year so far and I'm snowed in agian today.
I wish we had a few more days left in our season so I could get my son on a vocal bird or two. This season has been WET and WINDY.
Great job Gary. I get to hunt the next 3 days here in WVa. Hope they are crazed here too.
Beautiful bird Gary! It has been wild and windy down here in Tn also! Randy.....
That's a real beauty Gary, congratulations.
Congrats Gary!..........Great bird, you take some of the coolest pictures.
Congrats again Gary!
