I would like to get my son a good bow for his 5th birthday. Been looking at Maddog and black rhino. Unsure if a longbow or a recurve would be better suited for his age. What seems to be easier for little ones? Would the longbow be more durable for a rowdy little guy?
I don't have any experience in that department, but I can't imagine it would really matter much. Anything that can fling some arrows toward a target is going to provide a bunch of fun for him! I would guess that he might be most impressed with something that looks similar to Dad's. ;)
Enjoy your time sharing the stick and string!
Call Mike at maddog, he'll set your boy up.
Got my 5 yr. Grandson a Maddog Longbow. Works for him!!
My kids have used both. Cant go wrong with either one. Mine seem to like the grip on the MD recure a little better as far as repeatable hand placement.
I have 3 sons and from my experience it makes no difference
I see his pup recurve is measured at 21" draw length and comes between 10 and 20 pounds. What is good for a 5 year with some room to grow. Don't want him to start out over bowed.
