I am trying to do some entertaining stuff with aerial/flying targets and I need some ideas because I am running out of my own. I'm not talking your regular or standard targets like foam disks. Think extreme. For example, trying to take out a remote controlled airplane, a kite being flown from the back of a motorcycle, explosive target and flaming arrows (although I am not quite sure how to pull that one off), etc. Any thoughts?
If you can't think of anything extreme, what would be some challenging/entertaining scenarios?
What about parachuting toy army men?
For flaming arrows tape a sparkler to the end of the shaft and light it just before your shoot.
how about nerf football it would be about the size of a duck in case you want to try duck hunting with a bow.
Model rockets are a lot cheaper than R/C airplanes.
You can use my wife's shoe collection, I'll even toss em outta the 2nd floor window...
...make sure you pack for a weekend though, it's likely to take that long. :)

You must be married to my wife's long lost sister.

Do they shoot up like a bottle rocket? That would indeed be a sweet shot. I wonder if it would be possible to even lead it far enough. I am just imagining trying to lead the rocket 40 yards up before it's even touched off.

The sparklers might be a lot better than trying to use some kind of flaming oil tip.

I wonder if I could shoot them out of potato gun to give them some elevation. We have used paper cups as wads to shoot raw eggs out of it so I think it should work with the army men.

That is a fun one that I haven't done in a while, thanks for the reminder.

Now that would be a ton of fun :biglaugh: I just wish you were closer. That would be some extreme shooting and probably generate a bunch of new ideas.
I doubt you'll be able to hit a toy rocket on the way up. I was thinking as it returned on the parachute.
I always try to do it but have not gotten the approval from our club yet. You can rent a tennis ball machine (like the Lobster brand) and shoot foam balls like those stress release squeezy balls. The tennis ball machine can be programmed to shoot differnt patterns, speed and sweeps which may add a bit of uncertain to it. The squeezy balls are tennis ball size and would be harder then shooting disks.
Stand at the 100 yd marker at the driving range? :dunno:
Sand filled dodge/beach ball on a zip line.

I really like that idea so I called my brother who is an avid tennis player. I was hoping he had or had access to one. No luck, he doesn't even know of a place to rent them in our area. He said the less expensive ones are limited on how high they can though but it would make for a great crossing shot. If the balls got punctured or torn up they probably wouldn't feed or throw very well. It's still a great idea.

I wonder how fast the balls are actually going at a hundred yards...any guesses? On a solid drive it might be a challenge just to see it while it is still in range. Definately extreme.
