After 11 years of buying points and applying for a tag, I've finally drawn a Wyoming Shiras moose tag in Unit 4.
Jeff Holchin and I will be going moose hunting. Jeff successfully hunted this unit last year and has lined up a couple private ranches, but we would be VERY grateful for any tips, tricks, or leads on likely locations.
Wooo Hooo!!!! I'm going moose hunting!!!!!!!
Good for you Terry..When are you headed out there?
Congrads man! Wish you the best of luck!
Tdog, the current plan is last week of Sept. and 1st week of October.

Moose is on my dream-list. Honestly dream about it more than Africa.
Thanks everyone! I'm like a kid at Christmas! I've posted on about every forum I can find. Just too dang excited. I love moose hunting and have been waiting for this tag for 12 years.
Wyoming is a beautiful state and I can't wait to visit it again.
Congrats! Your excitement is even bleeding on me.
I would be thrilled to draw a moose tag even if it was in Kentucky
Congrats, Terry! I have no doubt that you and Jeff will be successful.

Can't wait to hear how this ends up. I can probably draw next year.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats I came up dry so will have to live through your story. Best of luck to you.
That is awesome Terry!!! Good luck to you and Jeff!
It sounds like we are going to get to vicariously do a moose hunt and a sheep hunt on this website for sure this fall. I sure hope a bunch of other Trad Gangers get lucky with some good tags!
Congrats Terry! Should be a real fun hunt. The best tip I have for you, is make sure you have a buddy to help pack meat, it's real fun alone  Hope you get some good footage too. Good Luck!!
take your cow ELK calls with ya...i call in bulls here in idaho most evry year with them...i hate it when they screw up a good elk set up.
:clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
Congrats! Moose is on my "bucket list". I look forward to hearing your story after you get back.
NICE
Great News Terry I am excited for you :bigsmyl:
Congrats. :campfire: :archer2:
Awesome...congrats!
Congrats Terry, this year I'll be collecting either my 9th or 10th point I have to check. Hopefully I'll be there in a year or so, last time was in 2000 for elk and my friend had a moose tag. Keep us posted. Whats your setup going to be. Good luck Joe
I have a close friend I have hunted Wyoming elk and deer with for several years. He finally drew a moose tag this year also, took him 13 points.
Congratts Terry!!!!!!!!!! Make sure you get it all on video!
Thanks for the well wishes everyone!
Now I have to get busy and get in a semblance of moose hunting shape. Only have to knock off about 40 pounds. No problem, I love starving and running.. NOT! At least I have 4 months to get working on it.
Congrats - Shiras are neat Moose. I usually run into a few while Elk hunting in Colorado. Good Luck and have a great hunt.
Good Stuff Terry, CONGRATS!!
That's awesome buddy! :clapper:
Terry, You lucky dawg! Can't wait to hear about the hunt and see the photos. You gonna make it Cloverdale this June? Let me know and maybe we can hit the practice range! Mike
Congrats and can't wait to hear the story and see the pics.
Lookin' forward to a great report and hopin' you have some tastey moose venison!
:campfire:
Shoot straight, Shinken
congrats! ive always wanted to go, best of luck to ya! :archer:
Congrats,best of luck
Good for you!!!! I have hunted antelope, turkey, prarie dogs, & mule deer in Wy. Should be there for elk next year too, but moose would be great. Wishing you all the luck a trad guy can muster! And you know already, get those lungs in shape. The high peaks will help some if you can get to them some to climb.
:archer:
Congrats!
I've been putting in for 17 years now in UT. Haven't drawn yet. Our draw comes out the end of this month. Tip: They love the willows. It seems they are always close to a patch of them. This usually equates to a wet area. Gary
Awesome man! So excited for you!
Congrats! Do you know what bow/setup you will be using?
JLeMieux, I will be using my 66# TimberHawk Takedown longbow. Not totally set yet on the arrows, but Legacy 2219s fly really good with a Woodsman or Snuffer. Killed a nice Alaskan Yukon with the same arrow setup but with a 75# TimberHawk 3-piece recurve. I could be swayed to going back to that bow???
IndianaBowman...confidence is the key. 66 or 75, either one will prove no match for moose ribs.
:notworthy: :campfire:
Outstanding news!!! Can't wait to hear how this one turns out!!!!
Congratulations Terry! You must be pumped for that one - should be a great hunt.
I've been building moose points myself and unit 4 is high on my list of possibilities. You can bet I'll be following this one very closely!
Congratulations!Have a wonderful time and a successful hunt. :)
Congrats and best of luck to you!
