Very rarely does a hunt come together for me on opening day and this one did. I think maybe because we have a two week old baby and my time to hunt was extremely limited. The turkeys were living up high in the mountains next to the snow line at 8000´ elevation. My friend that is a back country skier gave me the tip on the location. I shot the turkey with a black widow bow that I purchased here in the classifieds last month. It must have come from Alabama with some mojo! I just finished making some turkey nuggets tonight to top off the hunt; this whole experience put cabin fever down for good.

You shot your friend?! :knothead: :jumper: Great job on the bird and congratulations to you on the new addition to the family!
Way to go! The only thing I had a shoot on opening day was a hen. My favorite marriam turkey roost I sometimes can still watched my buddys telei ski on the oppsite ridge on these heavy snow years.
I should try to avoid posting late at night so it doesn´t sound like I shot a backcountry skier. That wouldn´t look so good on the news!
 :clapper:
Congrats! I am heading out this Thursday for my first turkey hunt. I hope I am as lucky as you! Where were you hunting?

That's the way to "break-in" the new bow! I love it. Having a skier scouting for you! Brilliant! Congrats Dad on the new baby by the way.
