I ordered a MOAB from Jim a couple weeks ago. I currently don't know anyone that's ever used one before Still can't make up my mind on wood choices so any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks
Thats a pretty personal deal, everyone has different tastes. Suggest you just start looking at the thousands of bows in these pages till you see something that YOU really like...good luck...nice bows.
Do a search. There are a few threads about MOABs with a lot of good pic's of combo's.
Justin; I don't think you will be disappointed. I owned a Thunderstick III until it crawled out of my truck and ran away. Replaced it with a MOAB. TSIII shot my 630 grain arrows at 178 f.p.s. and quiet. MOAB shoots same arrows at 189 f.p.s. and just a quiet or better. Got mine @27 1/2" and I pull @1/8-1/4" more. Jim makes a very good bow. I tested several other of the leading R/D bow makers and his was as good or better performance wise and the workmanship is excellent. Plus his price was a tad lower. :archer2:
Jim is making me a another bow also you will love it.I know he has some great looking ceder might want to ask him for some pictures.
Jim makes great bows. My MOAB was osage and cocobolo with antler tips and overlays. I had him substitute the white inner glass with red and it was very nice looking in my opionion. Tulip wood sure is pretty too@
Purple Heart riser, bamboo cores, curly maple laminations. Like the weight of the purple heart. It adds to the stability of the bow. :archer2:
