My ole buddy George came down today to spend some time in the shop with me and to pick up some stuff that he had ordered. One of the items was an Ambush recurve for his wonderful 12 year old GrandDaughter. I wanted to do something extra for the young Lady so I contacted my ole Buddy Kevin(aka KHalverson) to see if he could build me a little neck knife for the girl(I cleared that with G-Pa first). Kevin was all over it, and in no time I had a sweet little FORGED knife to go with the bow.I was going to make the sheath, but after I got the knife back I got my leather out and discovered that it was way Thicker than I remembered. So, I called my ole buddy Tim Able and he came thru in a flash for me. Tim made a sheath for me years ago and it is still my favorite of all time. This new one is outstanding as well. He told me it was horse hide with nice grain,I think he was right.
I need to back up and give Kevin a big hand, He is very humble yet builds a great knife and always jumps in to help somebody out when he has some good to offer. A stand up TradGanger for sure. Thanks again Kevin. thanks to Tim and Thanks to TreeDancer. Good folk all over the place. I wish I could be there to see the girls face when she gets her new gear.
