...to get my daughter out and shooting with me.
Here are a few picks from yesterday along with one of her groups from about 8 yrds away.

And this quiver is up for auction for St. Jude's.

The quiver is super lightweight and good for casual shooting.

Bud, my daughter was my sidekick forever. I had Dave Windauer build her a custom longbow when she was just a squirt. I made her a backquiver out of a blue fox, with white ermine hides all down the strap. She has hunted with me MANY times.
She is now 16 and I don't see her much except at the dinner table. She does not shoot, but will not give up her quiver.
She still has a strong sense of adventure, so future hunts have potential. She doesn't hunt, but says she'll go along for sure. She's seen a buffalo gutted, so not much can alter her after holding her own during that. But afternoons shooting with Dad are sadly gone. My boys gladly jump in, but man, I've got a SERIOUS empty spot without "weaselhead" as I used to call her.

And David mine's eight now, if I'm lucky I got another 5-6 years before she disappears too but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it, making the most of it now
Awesome pics fellas :)
That's awesome..my son is 5 and shows a big interest in shooting. Makes for a great shooting buddy.
Em is now 23 and is engaged to a Marine who is getting ready for his second tour in Afghanistan. She is supposed to be married in August. He deploys in September.
My oldest is 25 and she used to be my shootin' buddy with .22s and with shotguns at clay targets. That is gone but hopefully not forever. I still have hope.
Em just started an interst in archery a few months ago. Our work schedules usually don't allow us to shoot alot together anyway but I'll keep trying. She hasn't gotten up the courage to go to a 3D shoot with me. Maybe before August.
I don't want to be a grandpa before I'm 50 but I am looking forward to a child calling me paw paw. I'll be a broke paw paw.

Sorry for posting the same thing twice guys..I hit the wrong button on my phone.
My son is one of my biggest reasons for getting involved in Trad archery. Jake is 16 and this is our common ground. Thank God for good communication and a fun way to spend time together!!
I have two boys that enjoy flinging arrows, I hope that they hang with it... I try to keep it fun for the both of them...
A beautiful young Lady Bud.
You are a very lucky father.
Charles.
Bud cherrish these moments bud, my oldest lost intrest some time ago but then she rarely comes around & stays with her mom, now my 9 year old is my shooting buddy & I pray that she continues to have the intrest as well as my 4 year old.
Good to see family shooting.
:clapper:
My daughter gave me a grandson to take her place but I do miss shootin with her.
David you have a VERY nice family!
I know your joy.
 :clapper:
My daughter started out at about 8, now shes 23 and still goes to Denton Hill with me every year(10 yrs now) to shoot and camp. She doesnt hunt and dad keeps her bow and arrows and quiver for her for when she wants to shoot.
My baby boy is 1, I can't wait till he's of shooting buddy age.
Like everyone said, it looks like you have a wonderful family, you and I share in the fact we are both very very blessed.
Fin
In my effort to get her shooting more, I am in the process of making her these....

They will end up wearing all white 4" parabolics.
Edited to add final photo of the finished arrows. I decided to try one yellow on three. I think the all white fletchings looks better though.
