Title: Selway slind on quiver and Grizzly?
Post by: Pettit877 on April 25, 2011, 07:47:00 PM
I'm wondering if this is a good combo and if it will work well with my Fred Bear Grizzly?

I just put one on a longbow and it works fine, I can't imagine it being much different for a recurve, someone that has it setup that way will likely be along shortly  ;)

And by the way, welcome to The Gang  :)

not sure but i just put a selway softcoat slide on on my 1968 bearcat. it worked out great i like it. it does put a bit of weight with the arrows and all but feels god to me. my bearcat has a long riser section and if my arrows were shorter than 30 bop it would be into the feathers. not to sure how long the griz riser is or how long your arrows are so maybe maybe not.
i lucked out my arrows are 32.5 so it works on my bow, i have 4 in feathers so theres 3.5 inches to the feathers. im new so its just something to think of. hope it works out for you

The selway will work fine but it is a heavy quiver. I like them alot but they are not my first choice. I like the quick attach/detach ones alot better. They can be used on any bow and are lighter. Big Jim, Eagles, Kanati etc.

I second the Big Jim quiver.Easier on/off and half the price. I just swapped over from the Selway on my Grizzly and I love it...   :campfire:

I love my 2 selway's. One slide on, on my Bear Black Panther. And the other Bolt on on my 3 peice take-down recurve. They are great quivers. Not all fancy but a very solid quiver. Check the classifieds. That's where I traded for both of mine.

Just be sure to get a recurve slide on. Hap

The soft Kote slide-ons are the only quivers I use. Have them on both my bob lee take downs, and on the bob lee one piece longbow.

Like Hap Said, be sure to get the recurve model.

Also, they are quite heavy. I love a heavy bow in hand. Puts to mind the theory like a bull-barrel target rifle. Very stable upon release.

If you need a little adjustment to get the quiver a little tighter, a wrap or two of electrical tape where the quiver rests on the fade-out is a perfect adjustment tool.

Good luck!
