She called and said she had found something on her walk in my favorite hunting property close to home, and wanted to come by to show me. When I opened the door, I was so excited I almost wet my pants. You see, I like to walk this property quite a bit in the summer, and last year, I saw two 10 point bucks quite regularly, and in her hand was a shed she had found real close to my hunting spot, and yes it was 1/2 of a 10 point. Seems like atleast one of the big guys made it thru the winter, and hopefully will be even bigger this coming season. By contrast, I put a respectable 7 point from this same area inside of the shed. So you can see, he is the big daddy.

Cool Mike. Did she give you the shed? Either way its good to know he made it!
No, she kept it for her son, and both of my boys were kinda bumbed, so I had to go downstairs and cut the string to a set I got from a buck a couple years ago that I use for rattling. She also has a carbon arrow with a 4 blade head that had one of the blades broken off. I thoroughly went over the arrow and head, and all I found was dirt in and on it. I have a funny feeling who's arrow it is, but he never mentioned a thing to me about ever getting off a shot. Funny how good friends could keep a huge secret like that. I now have the arrow and head, so I will have to do some comparing next time I'm over at his place.
Mike looks like you've got some locating to do this fall.

I might post a aerial pic of the property to see what everyone thinks. If I can't figure it out this year.
just don't post the coordinates. Lol!
Too bad you couldn't keep the shed but hopefully this fall you can get the matching set attached to his head.
Good thing you maintained your composure Mike - she might have really wondered about you if you had lost your bladder while standing there at the door!
There is going to be some sweet anticipation around your house next fall!
Im shure he will be even bigger in the fall, when hopefully u get to wrap ur hands around both sides while they are still attached to his skull. Good luck to ya
It is only a 2 mile bike ride to where I hunt. There are a few guys on this site that live within a stones throw of me, and I'm sure they know the area, it's public property, but very few people take advantage of it. They probably think it is to small of an area to bother with. And that's just the way I like it.
There may still be the other one near by. I'd take the kids for shed hunt!
Yeah, I'd say the other is in close proximity...go find it!!!
My wife just called, and said the neighbor is going to give me the shed. So I told my wife to grab the 2 I gave to my boys last night, and give them to her for her son. Not bad, a 7 for half of a 10. I'll post pics tonight.
Sounds like an understanding neighbor. Get some pics posted.
Pic added to the first post.
That's a good one Mike! I agree with bowmofo. Take the kids and go find the other side. Good luck!!
If it ever stops raining, we will go back and look some more.
Good luck Mike.I hope you get a chance at that bugger.Hes almost in your backyard.
nice shed there.
Just got back from roaming the area with the kids. We saw lots of deer in and around the swamp, found a couple coyote dens, and I even found a crossbow bolt. Funny that we never seem to find wood arrows. Maybe it's because we don't take Hale Mary shots, and have no clue where the arrow ended up.
