Been taking the boys bowfishing for the last couple of years and can't seem to get them on some fish and they're losing interest. We like to go to Nolin Lake and we go some in the rivers and small local lakes/watersheds but I seem to always miss the spawn. I know you don't have to necessarily go just when they're spawning but I know that that's a great time to go though. When spawning, I have seen them flopping around and get in water too shallow and come all of the way out of the water and onto the bank! Now that's what I need to get the boys into!
What temperature range do carp like to spawn in?
It seems to be according to water temperature
13 - 17 deg. Celsius = 55.4 - 62.6 deg.F.

I think it's probably already happened Doug, but who would know as it rains around here every day. You are going to have to bring the boys up and we will get out on the Ohio river if it ever clears.
TJ, that sounds like a great idea! I have a 16' Lowe with a 25 HP Mercury outboard on it. I hear of people going out on the Ohio at night. I don't have the lights and all for nighttime bowfishing though. Is it good bowfishing in the Ohio river in the daytime too?
I don't about down there, but here when the cottonwood seeds start flying the carp are spawning hot& heavy.
