Title: Maddog recurve
Post by: Prairie Drifter on April 24, 2011, 03:51:00 PM
I had Mike make me a light weight recurve for 3-D shoots. This is what we came up with. Bow is 51". 38# @ 26". Riser is Bacote and Cocobola.High wrist.I skinned the bow with cottonmouth skins. Pretty good match to the bacote, I think. Also has sheep horn overlay on riser and horn tips.

I had Mike make the bow w/ white glass on the back of the bow so I had a light background for the skins. It made the skins "pop" in color. They came out lighter than I thought they would, but I am pleasantly surprised by how well they compliment the bacote.

WOW...  :bigsmyl:  Love the skins.  Puttin' 'em over white glass was the right way to go.  Beautiful..and Mike, you keep makin' purtier bows.  Way to go guy,  :clapper:
You two seem to have a great team goin'.  Mike makes 'em, then Mike buys 'em.  Let's hear it for the Mikes.  :clapper:    :clapper:
