Trad Gang

After reading some whining elsewhere re: this site's policies and moderation, I'd simply like to say to Terry, et al, 'thank you for your efforts and for a top-drawer, classy site!'

I moderate elsewhere and it is a thankless job that pays $0.00. Moderating can take a lot of time away from the mod's family and archery time. It can be more frustrating than talking to a liberal about entitlement programs.

Given that this site is set up to be a pure trad hunting and shooting site, the powers that be do a marvelous job keeping it just that. Two thumbs up to those behind the scenes!   :thumbsup:      :thumbsup:

I agree, Terry.  I also appriciate all you folks do to keep stuff running smooth.

I wish it wasn't necessary to have as many rules as there are on this site.  But given the choice of a slightly constrained conversation here, or the  constant "trolling for an arguement" with disrespectful personal attacks so common on other sites; I'll take the constraints necessary to remove those who just don't get it.  Unfortunate, but the lessor of the two evils IMO.

I agree, this is refreshing with so many willing to help and be positive and respectful. I've watched and read for several years and even bought a few things. Has been straight up good every time. I really didn't start interacting until recently but have been bending bows and shooting slivers for many years. I retired this last year and this has been a great place to hang out. I tip my hat to all of you folks and especially those who keep this site running so well. Oh yes and cottontail and snowshoe rabbits in Idaho, along with year round predators are open.

I, along with many other Trad Gang members am thankful for the great job that Terry and the other moderators do here.
I have visited other sites, but have yet to feel as welcome and find the help and freindships that I have made here.

This also has reminded me to make my contributor donation for 2011

I truly apreciate the rule of law and the real freedom it allows. Not freedom to harm or lie or cheat but freedom to be honest, associate with other likeminded folks that honor and respect trad hunting, each other, the young people that come on here and our rights to have a site without all the garbage that goes along with lawlesness and lack of human decency and respect.

I haven't seen one person abused on this site or one person that was wronged unless being chastised or having a thread pulled that was (outside) of the stated rules or taking exception to a moderator attempting to guide a thread that was moving in the wrong direction offended them.  

I also appreciate the effort that is made to protect the people that are sponsers and contributors to this site. I watched the site for several years along with several other sites and it became obvious to me that this site is a well run site that respects the sponsers and people that post here. That is why I became a sponser.

Further agreement.  This is the most well run site I use.  Glad you folks put in the energy to keep it up.

Many thanks for taking the time to post your comments....anytime there is a bashing thread on another site, the contributing membership grows.  This year there have been more in the 1st month than nearly all of last year.

We'll do something again this year just like always to give back the Contributor 2011 effort.  Hopefully another hunt of some sort.

The bashing, whining, disrespect, and general "I'm right and your wrong" attitude on the other big site is what made me register here. It's always good to keep things on topic and if you want to debate non-traditional archery related topics, there are other places to do that.    :clapper:

Although I am new to this forum, I am not new to forums in general. I have never seen a friendlier, accepting, helpful,  and giving forum or a nicer more trustworthly and plain aol good people than TG is. I think that is a combo of all the Good members and the awesome Nods that keep out the trash. Personally I think the 100 post for all classifieds is a great idea (and I don't even have 100 posts yet) and I think the only reason someone would be against it us if they wanted to just show up and sell things,  but as we've seen that's how the trash gets in.

As for standing up for a low life like the afore mentioned scammer, maybe those people aren't oposed to actions like that, but for the majority of hard working, honest, dependable members here, it wont be tolerated.

The close knit brotherhood that Trad Gang exemplifies is not possible without the mods working their tails off and everyone sticking together.

Mods, please don't let the whining of few end up ruining our great site you've all worked so hard for. Im sure the grateful masses on here would feel the same

When I first started traditional archery in September I spent my time on another site full of arguing and catty people.  I got some good help there but didn't care for the general attitude on the site.  I mistakenly found Trad Gang and have not been on the other site for months.  This is the place for good advice, civility, and good people.  I happen to know one of the admin.  He is a really good guy who helps me out all of the time.  I have had a lot of guys treat me like I was in their camp.  That is because of the rules and the Admin. creating a place where good people want to hang out and share.  I hope nothing changes.  Just realized I could say thanks by contributing to Trad Gang.

That smell, I think that sheep u r carrying's butt is too close to u'r nose. Terry opinions are like nether orifices', every got one and it can often get close enough to waft. "Illegetimi non carborundum" Trad Admin folk, known as the burden of responsibility, it was never going to be easy. U will not please all the people all the time but make such decisions in good conscience for the collective good, as u must and do.
Now the numbers r growing I imagine the collective time u'all put in service toward the benefit of us who make up this little gang is significant and at time intrusive personally, that will not change and the buck has to stop somewhere TG. Batter up!
The reality is as arbiters u make a difference for the better. I think u'll find the percentage of those who appreciate good governance and what u all do is way far and above those who perceive otherwise, tho difference of opinion is a healthy concept in reality, for us all. Please don't take this to heart as the freedom we enjoy here is well tempered by the policy and procedure u have put in place, collective experience n oft welcome wisdom and bye the healthy respect one for the other that has developed along the way. Never mind a few ****heads.
Perhaps there's good reason for the 35,ooo odd members & growing. There's a certain adhesiveness in common values. I tend to think this indicates more people are finding that here. More so than the actual disservice of governance, corporate avarice and roughshod ride we find ourselves subject to, that is often our lot, in the outside world.

The work of a mod/admin is tiring. This site is kept very well. Thanks for all you do!

I've never been a member of any other hunting or bow sites except here and the Black Widow owners forum.  I came to TradGang as a result of someone referring me here.  I think it's fantastic here, and I don't know what it's like to be part of a lousy forum.

Whatever the owner(s) and moderators are doing here, both visibly or invisibly, THANK YOU !  I have enjoyed the Gang immensely since I first came to know it in about 2006.

As a result of this forum, my understanding of the mechanics and environment of traditional archery have increased exponentially.  There are people around the world that I now consider my "friends" as a result of this forum.  I have avoided costly and even dangerous mistakes as a result of this forum.  

Again, thank you to all who contribute to making this forum what is today.
