looking to get some advice bareshafts and fletchedshafts group well out to 25yrds heres the ?.fieldpoints are 145gr and i would like to use 125gr zwickeys and a short adpt is 32grs so this would make the brhead 157so it would be 12grs heavier than field point do you think it would shoot ok or has anyonefiled adpts alittle bit to make the brhead fldpt combo the same this is just a thought iv always used a solid screw in brhead thanks chub . have a happy easter gang
I doubt that you would notice 12 grains difference.Just my opinion. Have a happy Easter! :thumbsup: :thumbsup:
You won't notice a difference in 12 grains of point weight, or 50 for that matter. At hunting ranges or even 3d ranges that amount should be too miniscule to show any effect.
if your shafts are on the edge of being to weak then yes it will...if they are on the stiff side then they will be better (MAYBE!!!)
you wont know till you try them.
I jump around 50gr. point weight and even different gpi. arrows all summer and dont notice any difference. When hunting my small game heads are usally left over 125's and deer heads are 170. I've shot squirrels and deer within 10 min. of each other and both heads hit the mark.
If you can tell the diffrence in only 12 grains you need to open up a school for trad. archery.. Most trad. archers in a blind test can not start seeing a diffrence until about 75 grains.. and then its only 2-3 inch at 20 yards..So load them up and let them fly..
The set-up, I suspect, would most likely have to be on the extreme border line of good flight to notice a difference.
