I've been shooting Beman MFX Classics out of my Hoyt Dorado when I've been shed hunting and stumpin'. My dad put the fletchings on w/ fletch tape, which IMO is junk. What glue do you guys recommned for putting fletchings on this type of arrow?
On a side note shed hunting has been going great! In three trips I've found 3 sheds and the skull of a 6 ptr. Stumpin' has been going better than expected and I'm getting dialed in!

I use a cap wrap first, then use Bohning Fletchtite.
For me I put arrow wraps on any carbon arrow I make.I'll use Platinum Fletch tite,never had any problem with it.I like arrow wraps on carbons because it makes them much easier to redo without scraping old feathers off the arrow shaft.Carbons are tough but you can gouge them scraping off old feathers.
I put on a wrap and then use fast set gel. Never had any problems with it.

I use a wrap and a super glue type glue. Never a problem after fletching hundreds of arrows.
look up 2P10 gel super glue it comes with an accelerator and works great, i can fletch an arrow as fast as i can put the feathers on. i spray some activator on the shaft and glue on the fletch it sets in 3 sec. works great.
I don't understand the dislike of fletching tape. I have been using is for years here in El Paso, TX. It gets HOT here and the only time I have had difficulties is when I don't clean the arrow with acetone prior to fletching. Minnesota is is heavily to the other side of the extreme. I imagine the extreme cold would be a factor.

Never had a problem with the tape, IMO it makes repairing an arrow much easier.
I like the fletch tape. I use a cap wrap and wash the base of the feather with alcohol. One drop of glue on each end of the feather after installing. Quick to install and no mess on the Bitzenberger! They last well for me.
In all fairness to the fletch tape, I tend to be hard on equipment. LOL
The main problem I was having is fletchings coming off when I was stump shooting.
Sometimes even glancing an arrow off a stump would result in a missing fletch. Othertimes a pass through on a stump would knock a flethcing off. This might even happen w/ fletchings glued on top of an arrow wrap, but I'll try that way and see.

you have to glue the ends of the feather when using fletch tape, dont know if you were or not, but that would be a major cause of the fethers coming off.

I fletch my MFX shafts with super glue gel. Works great and never loose a feather unless I loose and arrow and find it after the snow melts.
Wraps and super glue gel. The wraps make it easier to refletch.
I too, have been unimpressed with fletch tape. But it does make easy to refletch, just have to do it too often IMO.
Gorilla Glue is the bomb.
The fletch tape shouldn't be failing like that. Clean shaft, once the fletch is place it should be "seated" by using the corner of your fingernail to press tape/fletch to shaft. Then a drop of glue to leading edge and trailing edge if desired. I get super performance out of tape and would never go back to glue. This stuff goes under grass and takes a beating. Other than that, I have used all sorts of glues but always used a set accelerator so I could get instant bonding. Good luck
agree with CRS and Bill... works flawlessly. I also use the cement from wally's that is a buck for the tube, yellow and black packaging to hit up the front of the feathers, works real nice.

Never had a problem with the tape. Ive used on almost all brands of carbon. Clean, tape and dab of glue on front and back.

Never had a problem with tape but I am real "clean" with my operation. Acetone clean the shaft, apply tape so that I don not touch the contact surface with my fingers and press the clamp down when placing fletch... I don't use glue drops either.. I do clean the fletch with acetone also... Even with all this, it does not take very long....
