got this one in last friday. shoots just as good as it looks. specs are, 55@28 56" black glass, bamboo cores , phenolic riser with red accents. I got Lee to cut it 1/8th past center and tap the riser for a plunger low enough to still shoot off the shelf. also he tapped the front for my hawg light. Bow shoots real good. took me about 10 min to tune to shoot a 400 spine axis full lenght with 318gns on the front. 625 gns with 28 percent foc. 10 shot average is 164 fps. I think I'll go kill some more stuff now. also John did a great job of matching the quiver. I got an angle with the big hood as well in case I want to shoot 3 blades. thanks for looking. Don
Nice!

looking at the pics on here, well, they suck. the bow looks alot better in person. I can't take pics worth a sh***t. Don
WOW.....that's a fine lookin' set up. :knothead:
You just made my wish list one bow longer. :banghead: Oh well.
Nice looking bow. I'm liking the black glass more these days.
sweet bow don!
That is one sweet looking combo.Nothing wrong with those numbers either.
Bill
I see it shoots just as good as it looks !!!
Bill
lokkin good don! bow looks(and obviously shoots) great!
NICE,,,ENJOY...
Nice Don!!
Now go kill something!
Sweet! Go Forth and Skewer!!!! BTW, We got out the thrower Monday evening when the Venture Crew was at the house and shot (at) a bunch of aerials. Lots of fun, Thanks again, Joe
Don, I would have been honored to take some pictures for you when I got to see that beautiful bow, Sunday, at your house, after the First Annual Croatan Dogwood Blossom Stump Shoot. Never thought about it though, I wish you had asked me. That red and black will just knock a bow lover's eyes out (up close and personal) I'm here to tell (anyone who'll listen). Shoots great too - Ruddy put a couple right in there with it, and then I was able to draw it back good enough to get a couple off (at 55# it's a tad heavy for me), the first was almost in there, the second I was able to draw a little closer to my length but then I wavered a little just before release and it went a little lower and left. However I can say that it was sweet drawing and quiet in the hand upon release. Also I would have been well pleased with either shot on most any game animal (or target) except the smallest(squirrels, etc.).
Then Don took it and put 3 easy shots one on top of the other (one was a bare shaft), right where he wanted them (dog gone smart aleck). I told him he was gonna cut some feathers loose with that rig.
Don Batten Signature (in deed) Anneewakee Addiction Recurve. I love the thumb rest on it. It is ten times more comfortable than one would possibly imagine by just looking at it. I really wish I had one on my Addiction, I think - LOL
Lee Hoots and John Dill, with Don Batten's input, have come up with a real innovative winner once again IMHO. (That H is for humble when I use it, as well as honest)
Don.....after ten minutes of trying to figure out what your title meant....I gave up!!! :readit:
LOL - Did you figure it out by (the last of) my post, Terry, or did you miss that - i think we were posting at the same time.
Nice looking setup, Don! When I bought my Addiction at ATAR last summer I didn't know there was a "Batten Edition"! I am really enjoying shooting my Addiction, and am about ready to call John and get a matching SlimJim quiver for it....
Bernie, we better stop talking up John and Lee like this...their hats were a little tight last year at Denton Hill....!!!!
Lee
Looks good Don, Glad to know it shoots, It hurts my shoulders just marking the weight on the 55 #ers. stand proud cause not but a few qualify for a sig mdl the only other one I know of might be Bernie LOL! after a couple shots with it I named her. Damn this things goin be worst on hogs than "SWINE FLU"
Hoot
LOL - that's pretty bad all right, Lee but I think you are probably right when you check Don's shooting (and hunting) records - :scared: (just imagine this is a purple hog - LOL)
thanks all.
Bernie, I wish we had thought of you taking the pics. Yours are always good.
Terry, I think I know what you mean. Nick and Jet were down this past weekend. If I'd have know yall were in town, I would have had Michael take you over for a howdy and shake. you could have got the real poop on the head cam.
Lee hoots, It works better than I thought it would, and I knew it would work. thats what I like about you bows. 55lb feels like 45 on my 3pc takedowns. get you calipers ready. Me and John been talking about 65 to 70 on the next two. LOL
I hope to get a turkey with this set up soon. Heading out to mid west with some good old country boys in a couple of weeks.
55#? You been working out Batman
Joey, I feel so good , I think I could back pack you and biggie up to timberline in alberta. thats not counting the food to sustain you guys during our stay. DB
55lb? that is one thing I want to get across. Lee's bows are short(mine 56") but the working limb is longer than my 60" takedown recurves. It's got a big hook in the recurve and it almost feels like it has let off. I know it doesn't but I can't shoot my 56lb welch more than 20 shots before my elbow and shoulder say "no more". I can shoot this bow half a day. I shot John's 60 lb er last friday at least 50 times. no ill effects. Maybe it's just me, but I can shoot at least 10lb's more draw weight with Lee's bows than any other Ive shot. I've shot and own most of them too. If you think I'm lying, I got another 56" 55.5@28 I'll put up for a test drive. You pay shipping both ways. Don
Very nice Batman.Looks like it shoots awesome as well. :clapper:
Test drive a Batten Signature model. I like that!!!!!!! Super glad your enjoying your Addiction! Ole Lee Hoots put this bow together with porkchops on the brain! Lee done a great job as usuall! I also would like to order some of that "feel good" so that I could pack fat boys up to Alberta too. I bet I could even handle an 80 pound bow on that "feel good" mojo!(LOL) :D Don.....I hope you bring home some Nebraska turkeys with your new rig! BTW I hope theres room for Bernie on the trip....he's a great photographer!!! Congrats buddy!
LOL - yeah but then he'd have to put them down and tote me - or get one of the others to tote me. Hey, if someone can come up with a long range remote for my camera, I could send my camera along and take pics from here, tucked safe in my bed, on flat land - :goldtooth: Thanks for the vote of confidence with the camera, though, to both John, and Don - ;)
batman, remind me to put that bow in the cab. We'll put the Silvertips and Swamprooter back in the truck bed. I have never seen a Hoots bow, looking forward to it.
Looks good Don as all of Lee's bows do!! Will there be a limited edition of these big guy?? I think I have had one of everything Lee has built, maybe The Batten Edition would be next! Bring home the bacon!
chris, I'm sure as long as the orders come in, there will be an unlimited edition of these. LOL
Joey, we may have to put it in the back. Might not have enough room in the cab by the time me and Thomas load our banjos and beer and spit cups.
LOL - please, Lord, don't let them forget the spit cups - :D
Might not be able to get the Batman Model..but going to try to get Lee to sign my bow before he becomes too famous! Great looking bows, Lee......every shoot I go to people remark on how great my Addiction looks and shoots! You and John teamed up and did it right! That reminds me, I have to call John and order my Slim Jim quiver so my addiction is no longer naked! Bernie, thanks for the prodding and advice at ATAR about the bows....best money I have spent in a while. Only problem it shoots carbon and wood equally well..now can't decide which to shoot!
Lee Vivian
Lee
I'll be lookin forward to hearing from you buddy! I hope to see you guys at the CTA Hickory shoot also!
Joebuck might be better off putting the bow up front and Batman in the back. I know from experience the bow will seep out less strange smells on a long trip. Yall have fun and give the birds hell up there Don.
LOL - (from what I've heard) - Talk about the kettle calling the pot black - :D
