Title: Daneer Pronghorn's how do they it?
Post by: Dry Creek on April 17, 2011, 04:16:00 PM
Looking at getting a pair of the pronghorn's. I wear a size 9 in a work boot, but wondering how they fit? Are they pretty much true to size? I know I'll need to add a half size for heavy socks.
Thanks

I had a pair, good comfortable boots but not nearly durable enough imo for the price. inside of 6 months the sole was seperating from the leather, and the leather started to tear. But in all fairness I am rough on boots. Get a pair and you will like them, I just hope they last longer for you

I used to wear Danner's in the Army 20 years ago.  They were good then but I don't know anything about them now.

I've had a pair of Pronghorns for several years.  Still performing as expected, though they're not too pretty anymore.  Good boot for the money, IMO.

I have a couple of pairs and I really like them. They do run true to size and I bought both of them a 1/2 size larger for down hilling and heavy socks. One pair has close to a thousand miles on them and still going strong.

I have a pair that I bought two years ago. They are holding up well and still comfortable, no leaks. I try too keep them clean, in between hunts. Good boots

I love mine. I have 2 pairs and one is just starting to break down after wearing them all day every single day for 2 years. My fiance has 2 pairs and loves them, my father bought a pair last year for elk and loves his too. The best part is that they don't need any break in period!

I got the all leather ones in 200 gram Thinsulate about 3 years ago, they fit true to size and have held up.

I've had four pair of Danners including the Pronghorn and every pair have linked within the one year warranty period. Danner replaced three and sent a note along with the last pair that they would not replace anymore. No more Danners for me.

Amazing the variety of opinions. I bought a pair of pronghorns two years ago. My intent was for outdoor stuff. I have bad feet from years standing on concrete. My feet loved them, so I bought a second pair for days when scarred up  boots were not appropriate. There have been very few days that I haven't worn them. One drawback is the fact that Danner says they cannot repair this model in their shop.

I think you got your answer about size.  I love mine.  They're the first boots I've had that didn't need to be broken in.  I laced them up & started hunting.  I walked all day every day for 5 days and they were comfy!

Had mine about 4 years now....best boot for the $$ I've found. I have worn mine from south Texas to Northen Idaho. If you keep them clean and oiled they last a l-o-n-g time!
