My first shot at making "weaving" a back quiver. Just need to finish the strap attachment...

That is really cool. I've wanted to learn how to do this for a long time. Nice work!
Good looking basket. What are the dimensions? It will be a treat this summer.
The length is 20 inches the inside diameter is 5.25...
Good looks AND skills! :bigsmyl: Nice job Fred, can't wait to talk you out of it.
Nice job on the weaving!
Speedbump, Did you weave the basket from a kit or scratch? Nice looker and light I bet.
Very nice.
Very nice baskey quiver. I've made a few myself. You did a great job keeping the tension on the weavers constant.
Very Nice!
Mich. Mark..It is from scratch...had to back track a time or two to keep the cylinder even.I used a carpet tube for a guide as I went. Ya it is very lightweight. should be good for those hot 3D shoots this summer.
First experience with this stuff, should I spray it with a clear coat to protect it or is it OK as is?
Nice
Good work
I would think you would want to spray it with something to keep it from cracking and spliting. So it would stay flexable.
I'm not too picky Fred, either way is fine with me.
Just put some linseed oil on it, it'll soak in and help to keep it in nice shape! By the way....nice job!!
Great job. Looks awesome.
Very nice work. Good idea to use the carpet tube to keep shape consistent.
Thanks everyone.... I like that linseed oil idea ron.
Great work!
Fred, how 'bout a picture of the bottom and where did you get your materials?
Thinking about giving this a try myself.

Unless you have a month in hot weather to let it dry, cut your linseed oil with at least 50% turpentine/mineral spirits. I believe the ratio is on the linseed oil can. I linseed oiled the cedar strip floor of a new skiff I completed last summer and the cut linseed would dry overnight while 100% linseed or even a high ratio took forever.
beautiful quiver much cooler in the summer
NICEEEEE,,,LOOKS GOOD
That is cool. I love all the creative quivers folks are making around here.
Very nice Speedbump. Where did you get the materials?
(http://i1177.photobucket.com/albums/x349/speedbump6/bows%20and%20quivers/51f88386.jpg) Hey Greg sorry for the delay in responding...the bottom is a disc cut out of 1/2 " plywood, then I put a grove in the center of the disc (along the 1/2 edge) all the way around. Then I put the material in and glued it like the spokes of a wheel.....The material can be purchased at tons of websites just punch in "basket weaving supplies"...
Good job on your quiver!!!!! I'd be proud if I made it!!!! And it is alot cooler in the summertime.
