Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to give everyone an update on the progress at our range.
Just incase you didn't know, several of our trad gang members have gone above and beyond to help improve the quality of life for your soldiers overseas. As well as spread the sport of traditional archery. With several generous donations we have started an archey range at our fob, FOB Connolly. Located in close proximity to Jalalabad, the second largest city in Afghanistan. At current we have a ever growing number of shooters and people interested in our sport. We currently have a single 25 meter range at our disposal but have plans to expand to a 4 lane range. Our current line up is 5 trad. recurves and 2 targets. With close to 80 various arrows. Almost all of it donated by our great tradgang community!
I would like take a moment to name off our contributers to date. These are the gentleman making a positive difference in the moral of our fighting men and for the growing our great sport. Enought good things can not be said about their generous deeds.
Vern Pratt
Bud Baylock
Glen Herman
Dan Albright
Jon Fehr
Elmer Servis, and the rest of the guys of Black Diamond Archery
Thank you from myself, SGT Aaron Kirkendall, and all the Soliders of 1-61 Cavalry Squardron, 101st Airborne Division

As for our current wish list, we were thinking about ordering some additional targets for when we expand the range. As well as some various string silencers and a range of feild tip weights.
Thank you guys for all the support you have provided us. The boys and I have something cooked up for you all and we can't wait to give somthing back to everyone who has helped us out.

I feel stupid asking because maybe I should know but I couldn't tell, who is the pic of on the shirts? Looks like George W. Thanks for what you do guys and enjoy yourselves the best way you can over there, the pics are showing a great way to do that!
I will be glad to donate field tips of a certian weight let me know what weight and how to send them, and maybe by doing this someone else will do a different weight and so on and you will have a good supply.
Glad to see the southpaw being used. Us right minded people need to look out for each other
We all need to look out for our troops and each other while our troops are looking out for us and the rest of the free world.
Thanks for the update Aaron.
Bud

thanks for your service you guys rock!!!! keep your hearts up an come home safe & soon.
Yep that is G.W. One of the guys found a stencil of it somewhere and we all taged a shirt with it along with almost everything else that we could get away with......we all think its pretty funny over here.
As for field tips go, we have 125 grains over here now and would like to try to proper tune some of our bows with some heavier ones.
are these screw-in points if so what about the pdp adjustable weight system like 3 rivers sells you got 5gr. 10gr. 30gr. and 50gr. will this work and do you need more field tips, I will be glad to supply 1dz of each, let me know.
Aaron, I have a box ready to be mailed that has:
1 glove
17 Tabs
2 No-Gloves
3-Armguards
1 Bow Stringer
12-225 grain field points
12-250 grain field points
6--175 grain field points
I'll see what I can come up with as fsr as targets.
God Bless!
What do ya'll use for fletching your arrows? Could ya use an Arizona EZ fletch?
Do yas need more bows? :smileystooges:
OK, now tell me where and who to send these to. :readit: I'll look for more stuff too.
Take care of yourselves, and each other.
Let us know,
joekeith
:deadhorse: :deadhorse: Gol danged double posts.
Joekeith, I'll put together some feathers, wraps, etc.. to go with that Arizona EZ-Fletch. What is it set-up for, Right-Wing, Left-Wing, or Straight?
I'm about to order a few things I need from 3Rivers and I'll also get some 145 grain and 175 grain points to send.
Danny, it says CARBON RIGHT on it.......
George,Keith, and Dan,
As of now we do have some spare fletchings but no jig. All the replacement feathers have been replaced free handed. As far as are arrows go. We mostly have carbons here in the 600-400 range. I believe most of them are 5/16 in dia. We have a mixed bag of mostly easton axis, gold tips, and beeman ics.
And as always thank you for all that you have done for us and your generosity!
Aaron
Thanks Keith. I'll make sure I have a good amount of fletching in my next box.
Test, test hello!
