I was wondering if anyone makes a longbow that can be shot left or right like some of the old bear polar longbow. I was born a lefty a learned on kids type ambidextrous bows but in ny early 80s at 14 you could hunt only witha bow and the only available one was dads bear grizzly right hand so from then on I learned on that and took my first whitetail. Thought it might be nice to have an ambidextrous longbow if anyone knows where thanks merle
There are several custom bowyers that will make them, you just have to ask. There is a thread on hear of a HH that has left and right shelves, and I have been told that Maddog archery will make one also. If you get one, post some pics. Good luck.
Mike at Maddog makes a great dual shelf.

Leon Stewart makes a really nice one, I have one and it works wonderfully. Would show pics but don't know how.
Thanks guys,
I saw that old bear and was drooling, I really appreciate the info. Merle
Just about any one piece can be made into a dual shelf. With most bows today being made close to center shot or beyond they are a bit more sensitive in relation to arrow spine (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v488/Shortbldtr/IMG_1000.jpg)
That is an awsome bow.
When this Beaver Creek blank is finished it will be a dual shelf.
