Title: Making a bow stringer?
Post by: Dryfired on April 13, 2011, 07:31:00 PM
Hi All,
I want to make a bow stringer, could anyone please share how they have made theirs, for example the designs of the pockets?
Cheers!

After seeing pictures of the webster I ordered some 1 1/4 nylon webbing and just sewed pockets at each end. Works great and is bright yellow so I wont loose it.

I just received a Webster stringer, haven't taken it out of the package yet. From  what I have read about them they are the best. I will have to give it a try tomorrow.

I think im gonna built one this weekend...

Thanks for the pic Hvyhitter,  im guessing there is an eye or hole to attatch the rope or is the whole thing made out of webbing?

The whole thing is one length of webbing as it has a 4000 lb rating. I doubled the ends for about 4 inches (more meat to hold the thread) then formed and sewed the pockets. I used upholstery thread as its much stonger than normal thread.
