Title: Older longbows, heavy wood arrows, pure pleasure
Post by: LongStick64 on April 13, 2011, 10:28:00 AM
Recently traded for a couple of Great Northern Critter Gitters, my favourite longbow. One of them was an older Osage 62" 68@28. Lovely mellow Osage, plenty of Mojo on this bow. Thought about changing the grip but I don't want to mess with the Mojo.
Anyway took her out today and teamed her up with some Ipe footed Surewood shafts. Anyway this combination was a pure delight, quiet and you could tell the Critter Gitter was delivering that arrow with some solid Oomph.

Is it an unforgivable sin to shoot anything but wood from a longbow?

No, but they do seem to go together like peanut butter and jelly...
