Title: best method to measure centershot
Post by: jamesh76 on April 10, 2011, 03:41:00 PM
How do you measure your bows centershot?

I was thinking about marking the center of the limbs and then running a string across the shelf and measuring from there, but am not sure if that is a good way to do so.

Any suggestions?

Download the instructions to Stu Miller's calculator....about 1/2 way through the instructions he's got a pretty simple method for measuring.

I thought that it might be on the calculator but when I go to download the instructions I come up with an error and no display on the page.

Could someone possibly copy/paste them here?

Essentially he says to measure the entire width of the riser and divide by 2. Then measure the width of the riser at the sight window and subtract the first number from the second.
That's okay as long as your bow is symmetrical, but I'm not sure all are; especially metal handles. I prefer the string method.

Thanks,

I will try both and do a comparison.
