Tracey just finished another Osage bow and as I was loading the pictures on the computer and seeing all of our osage creations, I realized just how much I love the looks of that wood in a bow.
Here is a Slide show of some of them I know there were more but could not find them this morning
(Click on the photo to take you to the Slide show)

Excellent! Prettiest wood in North America.
Ilove the way it ages those bows will only get better with age.
Nice vid. Beautiful bows!
Even prettier when it is not under glass like this selfbow by Mike Yancey.

There is something about working with the native woods that is very Gratifing. Besided it keeps all the money here in the U.S. rather than sending money overseas for the exoctics
being from Michigan I love bows made with the local woods, and dang if they aren't some of the sweetest shooting bows!!!!
I LOVE osage!! It's durable and beautiful not to mention it's long, long history of use.
 Gotta love it.
Only one wood prettier, two Osage bows.
It was'nt called BOIS D'ARC for nothing! :)
NOT Just for Bows :) The blade will age to dark honey just like a bow...Doc

Ho yeah!Nice  Is it considered a hard wood ?(I gues it is but they don't grow here!!)
Love all the character in that handle Doc.
Mudd! I think that is one of my favorite bows as well!
Tippit That knife is imaculate.
I love my Hoots decked out with osage riser and veneers.
Man Do I love it great pics Dave I have a Knife somewhere with osage in it. It is the prettiest wood here in the states for sure.

I wish these guys in Missouri could see some of those beautiful St. Joe River bows...maybe they would quit using that wonderful wood for corner posts or burning it in fireplaces.
I guess there's enough to go around. I just can't look at an osage without seeing bows.
I have looked a a "bunch" of Osage trees and I can tell you that there isn't a bow in every one of them.(self bows only speaking)
Will say that if it'll make a good corner post there's a good chance that there are one or more bows in it.
Again,I am just talking self bows here.
I'm almost positive that if you start cutting the wood up into boards and lams there are many more.
My opinion for what it's worth.
God bless,Mudd
You mean there's any other wood to make a bow outy of? I was told that you only make a good bow out of Osage! Thats what my mentors keep telling me, and I just keep beliving 'em. I even won two custom bows and guess what, they're osage too! Gotta love that Yeller wood.
Hey doc, thats what I use for knife handles, Too.
JAG/Johnny
I have always been told that Osage (especially in the limbs) equals more hand shock. Is that a fact or is it a myth? I love the look of Osage but have never gotten one because of this perception. A little guidance would certainly be appreciated.
Rick
I am with the Doc, it works fine for knife handles too.

Bert.
I just picked up three Great Northern Critter Gitters, two were Osage. One is still bright orange, the other has mellowed to a dark orange. Love Osage !!! Looks great, shoots better.
Osage is my favorite! I'm a sucker for selfbows made out of a horseapple tree! Those knives are sweet.
I just found this guy up in Kansas.
I was having a horrible time trying to find Osage to make axe a handle. I stumbled onto this guy. From what he tells me he has miles of this stuff. He is a small family sawmill and is priced well. I bought a rough cut board 2x10x9' for a $200.. I can get a couple of axe handles, 2 bow staves and a bunch of spare out of the piece of wood. He even sent me pictures of the piece of wood before I bought it.
