I am a barebow recurve shooter looking to make my first longbow purchase. After some long research, I narrowed down longbow choices to the Tomahawk SS (64") and Martin Bamboo Viper (both retail at same price). I have a short draw and pull 40# so looking for something fast. I am planning to do a trial order (but can realistically only order one of the bows) - side-by-side comparison is not realistic.
Any insights from folks who have shot both? Thanks :)
I have shot both and owned two Tomahawk Diamond SS bows.. I definately perfer them over the Martin BB Viper...
BTW, with your shorter draw lenght and lighter draw wt., you may actually be able to drop down to a 60-62" bow and enjoy better performance in a slightly shorter, more manuverable bow.[ especially if you hunt from a tree stand or pop-up blind ]

If you can try them both and see which one fits you the best. Both great bows imo,I am a Martin/Howatt fan and have a few of their bows.
Can't vouch for the Viper. I do have a 62 inch Tomahawk Diamond Series Woodland Hunter and have a short draw. It shoots smooth and fast and hits hard.
I love my Tomahawk. Could not be happier. Never shot a viper, so I can not comment on it.
