Biggest mob of rain yesterday arvo...
Ben and Gabby were keen to get outside, anyway...
Here's Princess Gabby waiting to be lifted out of the ute (crook hips and no jumping on vet's orders):

The plan was to walk along a little creek and check-out a new swamp, stump-shooting along the way...
But to get to the swamp, we had to go through, well, more swamp; the whole countryside is swamp at the moment, and the creek is there somewhere under water:

Carrying a beaut little collapsable tri-pod made self-timed photography much easier than it has been in the past, when I've had to balance the camera precariously on a termite mound or too low in the grass on my pack...

Gabby spectates:

Gabby looks displeased with me dropping my bow arm, and is probably embarrassed by my plumber's crack, hoping to herself that I won't stoop so low as to show the pictures on TradGang:

She seems happier in this one:

She's shot-through, obviously having found something more interesting:

Throughout the area, there was fair swine-sign, not big mobs, but the work of a few nevertheless; due to the recent rain, none was very fresh:

Almost every step was like this:

Hey, Ben...
Didn't you say those "stumps" were "termite mounds?"
 :scared:
How fast do you have to retrieve those woodie arrows and get your bow off them so's not to get gnawed up?
:saywhat:  :deadhorse:
What wonderful country... :)

Thanks, fellows. Ken, if you do a search for Akubra, you'll probably find a dealer in the USA. This model is the Cattleman. Akubra is THE famous Australian hat maker. They make the parade hats for the military, hats for the bush, hats for our sporting teams - all wide brimmed, and made from our feral rabbits.

Looks like fun to me!
