It's official I heard it today from the Gentle Giant himself:
My bow is in the next batch to be built!!! :bigsmyl:
I can't believe how happy I am to have exactly the same bow built than I have, except in 2 pieces!
May be because it will have this kind of finish?

Or I saw how the riser is made?
Anyway I'm a happy camper!

Good for you Manny! Can't wait to see her.
He makes a nice one!
Congrats!!!!
The limb veneers look beautiful.
What are they?
3Feathers (Tim) has one i bet he will let ya shoot at the stump hunt bro.
Manny, I think I have about 7 months left on my 2 pc thunder child. I think we should swap, seeing that you have a buffalo bow and really don't need another bow right now. But I really need a new thunderchild NOW. Please, Please. Don

Don
Manny, when did you order yours? I ordered mine in mid Oct. and still no word. My wife has plans for this money if something doesn't happen soon.

It sounds like it should be a mid-May delivery, at best. :)
Yep,think about the pics!
Patience grasshoppper, the more bows ordered the longer the wait, but seriously good choice.
Thanks for the kind words guys!
I'm lucky enough to shoot one already!
Traveling will be so much easier! :wavey:
F-Manny
love the looks of the big jim bows and that one looks so nice
. i almost placed a order the other day but decided i couldnt wait a year to see it and ordered a custom from idahocurt on here, should have it in a few months.
anyways a bigjim thunderchild is on my list of must haves. anyone know how well they work for short draw shooters?
I shot BJ's personal Thunder child once (read one arrow) :scared: and was amazed how stable it was for a short bow, and how naturally it was pointing...mmmmmmmm....a TC..... :biglaugh:
Sweet looking wood. Waiting for a bow is worst than waiting for Christmas when I was a kid. I'll have to just stay with the one I have coming now. I can't take the pressure like when I was younger. I'm not addicted I can quit any time I want. I only shoot to be sociable. How long you say you been waiting?
I just received a comment from the bowyer himself on the veneers he ripped from the cocobolo plank I had the priviledge to choose within his enormous collection of exotics:
Spectacular :goldtooth:
Waiting can be long! But it is worth it big time!
F-Manny
So my new buff is in the spray booth! :goldtooth:
The Gentle Giant has been working hard in the shop

Osage and cocobolo of course, this one is a gift from me to me for my 50th
Fully dressed, horn overlays
62", 65# at my 27" draw
(http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i144/frenchymanny/d498e8e1.jpg)
Feels like Christmas in the heart of summer! :archer:
F-Manny
Gonna be sweet. Congrats.
Thanks Patrick
Manny That is gonna be awesome , hope you got it in a more appropriate weight for a weakling like me to try out :0) :wavey:
AWESOME bow my brother, think there might be some caribou magic in it??????
Drew my Friend, it's just because I draw her only 27", I would kill to have your draw length :notworthy:
Ken bro, she was made for flying a float plane...And bring boo to the camp!
We need to meet and stumpshoot again!
Takes me back to when my two Big Jims were born seems like just the other day. Nice choice of woods Manny. congratulations
Congratulations Manny! Waiting can be tough, but the end result is worth it. Maybe it can make the trip with you for the 2012 stumpshoot.
Thanks!
For sure it will Ken

Update?
Package is traveling with USPS!
The Eagle - sorry the Buff - should land by end of this week or mid next week.
Man this is tough!!! :help:
Pictures and shooting report this weekend or next depending on how our postal workers are dealing with the backlog of their past strike
F-Manny
I guess if you can be patient, so can I, lol.
The eagle has landed...
The bow is very different from what I was expecting.
I was picturing basically the same bow than I have, but in 2 pieces.
I love the subtile added mass in the handle, and the cocobolo looks so rich and dark..my wife said: "What a dark bow, it looks so powerful" and that sums it up!
I instantly felt connected to this bow, and that goes far beyond the tool: Friendship, the spirit of the hunt, all possible future ...A stout bow for adventure!
I won't be able to shoot it before Saturday, and will do the pictures in the wild: BigJim's work deserves better than a quick snap in the house.
Thank you Big Jim for your work and an incredible value
F-Manny
Sweet looking bow!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am happy for you.
I cannot wait to see your pic.
MAY THE SPIRIT OF FRED BEAR GUIDE OUR ARROWS.
Cool Manny can't wait to see some pics. Drew

No Kidding, Manny get on with it  :goldtooth:
No kiddin' the pictures got corrupted on the sd card!!!
I have a software running to save the pictures right now!!
So while it's saving pictures:
Love the bow, love the shooting dynamics, my release is cleaner with the extra 5#,I shot the same arras than with my 60#er and cannot see a difference in cast yet (only about 50 arras in her or so)
Deer flies were on speed today :scared: that's why I didn't shoot more
First picture recovered from the corrupted camera card:
